Liv Moods breaks down the Broncos’ 10–7 Thursday night win over the Raiders — a game she calls “ugly” despite Denver improving to 8–2. She explains why the defense is championship-caliber while the offense remains inconsistent and undisciplined, and why it’s far too early to panic about Bo Nix. Liv compares Nix’s early career numbers to Peyton Manning’s, calls for more aggressive play-calling, and argues that the problems are fixable — if Sean Payton lets Davis Webb take the reins. Later, she reacts to Russell Westbrook’s comments about the Nuggets, defends his resurgence, and weighs in on Ja Morant’s attitude and future in Memphis. The episode closes with a powerful personal reflection on mental health, following the tragic death of Cowboys DE Marshawn Kneeland, as Liv shares her own story and urges listeners to check on their friends.
Liv Moods calls it like she sees it — from the Broncos’ ugly win over the Raiders to the reality check for Bo Nix and what’s really going on with Ja Morant. She compares Nix’s stats to Peyton Manning’s first 28 games, explains why Denver’s issues come down to discipline and play-calling, and insists the defense is elite enough to carry them deep into January.
Liv also dives into Russell Westbrook’s candid quote about leaving Denver, defends him against critics, and unpacks Ja Morant’s public comments suggesting tension in Memphis. The show ends on a deeply personal note as Liv shares her own mental health journey in light of Marshawn Kneeland’s passing — reminding everyone that vulnerability saves lives.

00:00:41:12 - 00:01:04:06
Liv Moods
Welcome in everyone. Thank you for coming to hang out with me on this beautiful Friday, a victory Friday. Yes. It's true. The Broncos did win in a Thursday Night Football matchup versus a division rival in the Las Vegas Raiders. What was the score live? You may be wondering. It was 10 to 7. Yeah. Yeah yeah yeah. The two and five I believe they were two and five when we played them.
00:01:04:06 - 00:01:30:10
Liv Moods
The two and five Raiders only lost by a field goal to the Denver Broncos. It's true, it's true. So let's talk about that game because honest to goodness I was there and it was ugly. It was absolutely ugly. It was yet again another example of our defense absolutely carrying us through to another victory. Our defense, frankly, is probably if you really looked at things, maybe the Giants game was not their best performance through four quarters.
00:01:30:10 - 00:01:59:07
Liv Moods
But I would say our defense right now is a nine and one defense. Yeah almost undefeated. This offense however, really, really struggles. This comment right here. Yeah. We have a Super Bowl ready defense. Absolutely we do. This is an elite championship level defense. And frankly they were actually playing at a championship level last season as well. So I can only imagine the frustration that our defense is feeling right now, having to carry the load of this Denver Broncos team every single week.
00:01:59:07 - 00:02:18:05
Liv Moods
That is the reality of where we're at right now. And I do want to spend some time talking a little bit about that game and what we've seen from this offense over the course of ten weeks of football. Okay. Let's get into it. If a win a win is a win was a team, it'd be the Denver Broncos because that was ugly.
00:02:18:05 - 00:02:37:15
Liv Moods
Everything about it from start to finish was just not great. A two and now two and seven Raiders team okay. Only lost by a field goal to this Denver Broncos team. A team that is now riding a seven game win streak which is very, very impressive. Eight and two records sitting atop of the AFC West. All things to be very excited about.
00:02:37:22 - 00:02:55:15
Liv Moods
But there is a tough conversation that needs to be had about this offense, and we need to have it today and we're going to keep it very real and we're going to keep it 100, and we're just going to be very transparent about this, okay? Jake Dobbins said it best. He said it himself. The man himself had these words to say, I can't make this up.
00:02:55:18 - 00:02:56:27
Liv Moods
Here it is Jake Dobbins.
00:02:56:27 - 00:03:20:18
Speaker 2
Eight and two after ten games. Most wins in the NFL. Yet there's a dissatisfied fan base right now. Is that insane? No it's not. It's saying because we we can't watch. It is good. We're much better than what we were with it. Our defense is constantly each week holding us, holding hold, holding us in the game. And we just got to do better.
00:03:20:18 - 00:03:43:03
Speaker 2
Like, Yeah, that's like, I'm. I'm with the family. It's like Broncos, Broncos, country. I feel y'all, because I'm feeling the same way. And, like, we have a team that we could like we shouldn't be trying to or frustrated. Yeah, yeah, I am frustrated. But we're going to get it together as an offense. We're going to get together, defense.
00:03:43:09 - 00:03:47:24
Speaker 2
They're doing an amazing job winning this game. So we got to help those guys.
00:03:47:27 - 00:04:07:22
Liv Moods
So you can only imagine if our offense is feeling frustrated by their own performance. You can imagine the defense is probably sharing the same frustrations. You also have to imagine this defense is spending a lot of time playing football. The offense is not giving our defense much time to rest. In between when they're on the field and off the field because our offense isn't staying on the field very long.
00:04:07:22 - 00:04:24:29
Liv Moods
So not only do you have mental frustration from this defense, but I would imagine their bodies are starting to feel just how great they're playing every single week. So there is a lot of frustration. And Jake Dobbins said it best, you have to do better and I believe they can, but you have to start seeing that relatively quickly.
00:04:24:29 - 00:04:44:19
Liv Moods
If you're going to believe in this Denver Broncos team to carry you through a deep run in the playoffs. That being said, let's talk about Bo Nix because he is the center of conversation quite a bit. Naturally, right? When you have an offense that's not clicking or an offense that's working really well, we naturally blame either in a good way or a bad way, the quarterback of the offense.
00:04:44:19 - 00:05:17:21
Liv Moods
So do you need more from Bo Nix than what you saw last night? Absolutely, yes you do. But let me put a little bit of perspective onto things here. Peyton Manning threw his first 28 career games, 7620 total yards. Bo Nix 6723 yards, 50. Total touchdowns for Peyton Manning. Threw his first 28 career games. Bo Nix, 55 five more than Peyton Manning, 42 interceptions for Peyton Manning.
00:05:17:23 - 00:05:52:16
Liv Moods
Bo Nix, 20, nearly half as many interceptions for Bo Nix, a 59.1% completion percentage for Peyton Manning through his first 28 games of his career. For Bo Nix, 64.1% 79.5 passer rating for Peyton Manning through his first 28 career games. Bo Nix, 90.5. So I just don't think we are in a position just yet, folks, to be hitting the panic button on Bo Nix, because there's a lot of problems with this offense.
00:05:52:17 - 00:06:09:01
Liv Moods
Bo Nix is just one of them, right. You need to see more from Bo Nix through four quarters that we know. You know that in the fourth quarter he can turn things on. He can win you football games. We've seen that. We know Bo Nix is a winner. What we need to see though is a little bit of consistency through those four quarters, right.
00:06:09:01 - 00:06:34:21
Liv Moods
In order to really believe in this team, to go the distance collectively, I would say this Broncos offense lacks discipline. That's what I'm struggling with right now. The lack of discipline is what's putting the Broncos at a disadvantage every single game. So it's really easy to watch the Broncos right in the Giants game or whatever game really this season and go, wow, they're playing such heroic comeback football.
00:06:34:21 - 00:06:59:09
Liv Moods
They've got that grit. They've got that win mentality, which is true. That being said, the reason that they're having to play heroic comeback football is because of their self-inflicted wounds. It's mandatory that they play heroic football because their self-inflicted wounds are setting them at a disadvantage through these football games, and then they have no choice but to crawl back and find a way to win.
00:06:59:12 - 00:07:19:25
Liv Moods
So a lot of this is self-inflicted. That's what I have a hard time with. The lack of discipline to me, though, starts from top to bottom. Let's start with the play calling. I've talked about it before. I'm going to talk about it again. The play calling lacks discipline, and I would really love to see a world where Davis Webb gets his opportunity to play call, I really would.
00:07:19:27 - 00:07:42:02
Liv Moods
At this point, we've now seen it get as bad as it gets versus the two and six Raiders one touchdown scored. I don't know how much worse it could get offensively for this Broncos team. Okay. We've already by week ten abandoned the run game completely despite having J.K. Dobbins, who is proven to be reliable and having a joker in RJ Harvey.
00:07:42:04 - 00:08:10:24
Liv Moods
The run game has been abandoned. The play calling is very conservative, which does not play to Bo Nix's strengths at all, which is something that I have struggled with with with this play calling. You're not playing to the strengths of the quarterback that you drafted. Naturally, if your play calling does not align with that of your quarterback, the quarterback that you chose, that you believed in, that you saw something in enough to bring him to this team and have him lead this offense.
00:08:11:02 - 00:08:33:10
Liv Moods
If those things aren't a lying, if you're not playing to his strengths, you're putting the quarterback automatically in a really tough situation and at a disadvantage, and he's forced to play heroic football. So when he falls short of playing heroic football because he shouldn't always have to, it reflects poorly on the quarterback. But to me this is top to bottom.
00:08:33:10 - 00:08:51:03
Liv Moods
We've got problems here and it starts with the play calling. I've said it many, many times. Let's talk about the special teams. That's another group that lacks discipline. How I feel about that is pick a struggle. You can't have a bad special teams and an offense that's not clicking. It's going to be a really large problem come playoff time.
00:08:51:06 - 00:09:18:17
Liv Moods
It will. Our special teams have struggled all season long, and you put yourself at a significant disadvantage when you couple that with an offense that's not clicking next, receivers and tight ends okay, not super reliable right now. Every single week. We saw it just last night. Every single week there are dropped balls that are very costly, very costly.
00:09:18:19 - 00:09:41:02
Liv Moods
And through ten weeks, I think what I'm struggling with the most is you haven't seen improvement with that issue early in the season, right? You know, a missed bomb dropped by Troy Franklin or Courtland Sutton or Evan Ingram and Bow aren't clicking yet. You have a little bit of patience. But by week ten we should have seen more improvement with our receivers and tight ends.
00:09:41:02 - 00:10:14:12
Liv Moods
And we haven't. Penalties. Penalties have been a problem for this Broncos team all season long. Offensive penalty yards on first and second down 255 for the Broncos this season. That is the most in the NFL. Those are self-inflicted wounds. You automatically put yourself at a disadvantage with penalties automatically.
00:10:14:14 - 00:10:41:17
Liv Moods
So between play calling that doesn't play to the strength of your quarterback is conservative and you've completely abandoned the run game. You couple that with a really poor special teams. You couple that with penalties which are self-inflicted wounds, and then you couple that with dropped balls by your receivers and tight ends every single week, with very little improvement by week ten on the issue.
00:10:41:20 - 00:11:12:17
Liv Moods
It's tough. This is undisciplined football when we're looking at this offense, which is hard because you've got arguably the most disciplined defense on your side. This Broncos defense is elite championship level. Every player on our defense, every position defensively for this Broncos team is elite. Arguably best in the league. That's a fact. The sad reality is this because I'm seeing some comments.
00:11:12:17 - 00:11:34:13
Liv Moods
Everyone's like the Broncos are still eight and two. They're still in first place in the AFC West. Chill out. You're right. You're absolutely right. But it would be very naive of us to think that if we keep playing the way we've been playing, we will win in the playoffs. We won't. Let's be real. I love this team. I've got a lot of faith in this stinking football team, I really do.
00:11:34:15 - 00:11:48:12
Liv Moods
Have I lost faith and hope in this team? No, I have not, because the sad reality, and I think it makes it actually a little bit more frustrating, is a lot of these offensive issues are fixable.
00:11:48:14 - 00:12:06:06
Liv Moods
And we know this offense is capable of more. That's what makes it so frustrating. This is a this this offense is way more capable than what we see from them week to week to week to week to week. So here's the positive. With all that negative I just listed about this Broncos offense being undisciplined. And that to me is the root of the issue.
00:12:06:07 - 00:12:31:05
Liv Moods
Here are the positives right. They're still eight and two. And how cool is it to say that you're eight and two and you still have room to improve right. That's exciting. That is a good thing because this is to me, these are very fixable issues here. They are still the best in the West. That is also true. They have an elite championship level defense check.
00:12:31:07 - 00:12:56:00
Liv Moods
And we know defense wins championships every single time they find ways to win in ugly and tough situations. That's also a really great trait to have, because if you can win the tough and ugly ones, you can usually win the comfortable, easy ones. Problem is, we got to see more from this offense starting in the first quarter in order to give them the opportunity to win comfortably.
00:12:56:04 - 00:13:15:10
Liv Moods
We don't see that very, very often. I don't think we panic just yet on this Broncos offense. Okay. Am I frustrated? Yeah. Was that ugly? Yeah. You know I mean it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that what happened against the Raiders, the two and six Raiders was ugly. It was ugly.
00:13:15:12 - 00:13:34:06
Liv Moods
And there should be frustration by our defense at this point in time. Absolutely. There should be. J.K. Dobbins even said it. They should be upset. We're not doing enough. And we know that. We know that this offense is not doing enough. But we also know that this offense is capable of more. And these are fixable issues that we also know.
00:13:34:08 - 00:13:58:07
Liv Moods
So we're not going to panic just yet. If you want to find another positive of what happened versus the Raiders, the two and six Raiders in a Thursday Night Football game, here it is. We gave the Chiefs zero and I mean zero usable scouting footage. That's true. We gave them nothing to work with. They have no preparation on their hands because we didn't even give them frankly a football game to watch.
00:13:58:09 - 00:14:18:04
Liv Moods
We sure didn't. And also the week before, offensively felt a little unrealistic because we were playing against the Cowboys defense. And you can pretty much do anything against that defense okay. And then this week the Chiefs are probably going to enter this game versus the Denver Broncos. After watching what they did versus the Raiders and say yeah we can let our guard down a little bit.
00:14:18:07 - 00:14:32:16
Liv Moods
Our walls can come down with this team. We're not worried about nothing. And that's when the Broncos spend these next ten days locking in tidying things up and striking.
00:14:32:19 - 00:14:51:03
Liv Moods
I don't know if you can call yourself the best team in the West. You could probably ask the players this and they'll say the same thing in the locker room. You don't really get to call yourself the best team in the West until you handle the Chiefs. Next week will absolutely be a deciding factor in the public opinion of whether or not this Broncos team is legit.
00:14:51:06 - 00:15:14:10
Liv Moods
You compete versus the Kansas City Chiefs. That eight and two record now makes sense. But this is going to be a very telling football game versus the Kansas City Chiefs, who we know at any given moment can just tear it up, tear it up. The one thing I am holding on to going into that game is the defense that we play.
00:15:14:12 - 00:15:39:02
Liv Moods
I know for a fact our defense is showing up in a very big way. Period. Our defense is showing up. We we know that. I don't have to question that one single bit. That's how talented this defense is. So there are positives to take from the game and from the situation that the Broncos are in. Being eight and two and still having a lot to improve upon.
00:15:39:04 - 00:15:59:22
Liv Moods
And there's also negatives. There's also negatives of things that they need to tidy up on and they need to do it quickly otherwise. I can understand people feeling like this is an eight and two team that they don't really believe in. Do I think it's fair to make these very large claims that Bo Nix is awful and this team is fraudulent?
00:15:59:23 - 00:16:24:25
Liv Moods
No, I don't I think that's crazy. They're they're winning. And we do know in the game of football. Luck is on your side when you're a good football team. So you could argue that a lot of what we've seen from the Denver Broncos is luck. But the reality is good teams get lucky sometimes. I'm not willing to watch one football game on a Thursday night when we also know historically, Thursday Night Football games are trash.
00:16:24:27 - 00:16:43:22
Liv Moods
They're horrible. They always are. You can have the Ravens versus the Chiefs on a Thursday night. And it's like, what was that? I don't know what it is, but on a Thursday it just doesn't work. So I don't think it's fair. I don't think it's fair to just completely write off the Broncos right now after one game. That doesn't seem fair.
00:16:43:23 - 00:17:05:20
Liv Moods
They are, in fact, still eight and two. And the best team in the AFC West. And they have, in my opinion, the most electric and best defense in the league. So, you know you're not going to convince me the Broncos aren't a good football team. Forget about it. Forget about it. It's not happening. This is a really good football team that has some tidying up to do.
00:17:05:22 - 00:17:23:15
Liv Moods
And it starts top to bottom play calling all the way down to special teams. We just got to tidy some things up. Very fixable issues here with this Broncos offense. Let's move on. Let's move on to the NBA. Yes yes yes.
00:17:23:15 - 00:17:24:20
Speaker 2
Yes yes yes.
00:17:24:20 - 00:17:47:11
Liv Moods
Did you guys see the words of Mr. Russell Westbrook following the game versus the Denver Nuggets. If you didn't hear they are okay. The truth is that they didn't want me back. It ain't up to me. They told me not to pick up the player option. I don't go where I'm not wanted. Interesting, right. Interesting. Let's deep dive on this.
00:17:47:13 - 00:18:14:14
Liv Moods
Let's talk about this quote by Mr. Russell Westbrook. I know you're probably sick of me talking about Russell Westbrook, but get over it. I'm not done yet okay. How quickly fans assume Russell Westbrook leaves the nuggets because of his ego. How quickly fans assume Russell Westbrook wants to be a starter. And that's why he's not in Denver. How quickly fans assume Russell Westbrook believes he's worth more money than he actually is.
00:18:14:20 - 00:18:22:09
Liv Moods
How quickly we assume why Russell Westbrook left.
00:18:22:11 - 00:18:44:27
Liv Moods
He told you he told you right in Ball Arena from the locker room. They didn't want me back. They told me not to pick up my player option by the way. Russell Westbrook is a human being. And just like Russell Westbrook I will be nowhere that I'm not wanted. Why on earth would you stay somewhere that you're not wanted?
00:18:45:00 - 00:19:07:17
Liv Moods
Russell Westbrook in Sacramento's victory 23 points 16 rebounds. One of the best rebounding guards in the league. Probably ten assists. First 2015 ten game for Russell Westbrook since May 16th, 2021. And this man is in his 18th season.
00:19:07:19 - 00:19:24:13
Liv Moods
Cry about it. Russell Westbrook as a starter this season 19.3 points per game 9.8 rebounds per game, 6.8 assists per game, 2.83 pointers made.
00:19:24:16 - 00:19:45:02
Liv Moods
Let's put this to bed, shall we? Let's wrap it up and put a bow on it and stick it under the Christmas tree. And never talk about Russell Westbrook being watched ever again. Let's move on shall we? And let's face the facts here. You're going to hate to hear it but I've got to say it. Russ didn't work in systems that were broken.
00:19:45:09 - 00:20:17:03
Liv Moods
Oh let me say that again. Russ didn't work in systems that were broken. So maybe, just maybe, take your outdated, overdone, boring hatred for Russell Westbrook and direct them towards your franchise and let the King, in his 18th season, continue to ball out. Can we do that? Is that too much to ask? Not only did this man beat Shanghai shark allegations, he got picked up.
00:20:17:09 - 00:20:41:06
Liv Moods
He's starting and he's contributing to wins. Westbrook haters everywhere. Read it and weep. Thank you and Merry Christmas. Okay let's move on. My God I mean so help me Lord it is. So let it go. And I'm going to keep talking about it until you do. And when people say live, why do you still talk about Russell Westbrook so much?
00:20:41:12 - 00:21:09:25
Liv Moods
Because believe it or not, I get a DM daily about this, man. I get a tweet. I get tagged in a tweet daily about this man. Oh just wait. Oh just wait until he starts turning the ball over and missing layups. Oh my god. Shut it down Jay. Per creeper. Lord have mercy on my soul. Wow. Anyway, let's talk about another player in the NBA, shall we, Mr. John Morant?
00:21:09:27 - 00:21:33:11
Liv Moods
Woof woof woof woof woof woof. Wow. There's some things going on here with Mr. John Morant. There's some things. There's some things. We've got a couple clips. We're going to play them. And then we're going to break it down. Let's, let's, let's let's start with Yeah. Let's start with that clip. We're going to play some of the words that he's had after some of the losses that that have happened with the Memphis Grizzlies.
00:21:33:11 - 00:21:35:09
Liv Moods
And then we're going to break all of this down. Here it is.
00:21:35:12 - 00:21:40:12
Speaker 2
What went wrong for you today. I'll go ask the coaching staff.
00:21:40:15 - 00:22:00:09
Speaker 2
Do you feel like I mean this was anything you could do differently I guess right now they had a whole spill to get some from the outside. And that's what may be wrong. But from the outside, it didn't look like you had your usual energy the night go after going stopped. Okay. You feel like you should play more.
00:22:00:11 - 00:22:04:25
Speaker 2
Oh, I coaching staff. Should I play more?
00:22:04:27 - 00:22:25:23
Speaker 2
What had been good work had been done different, get a different outcome other than the coaching staff. The to them probably don't play me honestly. That's basically the message was from the from the call. The coaching staff members were very cool because you didn't have anything physically wrong from his illness or anything. Oh, no, I'm running the farm.
00:22:26:00 - 00:22:32:03
Speaker 2
Okay. I'm fine. All right. Okay.
00:22:32:05 - 00:22:36:03
Liv Moods
That's not all, folks. There's more. Run the clip.
00:22:36:05 - 00:22:57:16
Speaker 2
And the coaching staff. I want to talk about what happened Friday in Milwaukee. Yeah, I have a question. Never. What about for you? You know, ask that question. So I know the answer to that. Do you feel like everything's been resolved here? They told you? Well, yeah, but I didn't hear from you. Obviously they ain't going to tell y'all.
00:22:57:16 - 00:23:24:23
Speaker 2
So my answer, you feel like you get this same joy right now? Do we used to say, no. Why not? Okay. What can be done to get it back? We'll see. What do you think? You have a good relationship with the franchise? Yeah. Yeah, I told you, I don't want. I didn't say that. If I had a good relationship, I won't talk to them at all.
00:23:24:25 - 00:23:46:01
Speaker 2
So you got. I can't go over. Even you regrets about the way you played on Friday night in the second half, you said. What? You have any regrets about the way you played the game? I'm not talking about the potential home run question over here. It's not like a big question.
00:23:46:04 - 00:24:13:12
Liv Moods
Okay, let's break it down. Let's break it down, shall we? First things first. John Morant was never the same after saying he was fine in the West. That is a fact. So note to self never speak lightly on the Western Conference in the NBA because there's some voodoo coming for you after that. I am not kidding. Okay. Secondly, it's becoming very clear to me that John Morant wants out of Memphis, which is potentially possible.
00:24:13:12 - 00:24:36:01
Liv Moods
I read some reports that the Minnesota Timberwolves have got their eyes on John Moran and everything that's happening in Memphis. They're kind of keeping an eye on what's happening over there just in case. So help me. So help me, God. If John Moran is a Minnesota Timberwolf, I will freak out. Crash out. Incoming! Okay, as if that team needs to get more terrifying for my Denver Nuggets, please stay where you are, John.
00:24:36:09 - 00:25:02:07
Liv Moods
But it's very clear John Moran does not want to be in Memphis anymore. Why would you assume that live? Did you just listen to what he said? I mean, he couldn't be more uninterested in that team or protecting what goes on on that team behind closed doors. Keep in mind, he is the face of the franchise. You're held to a very different standard as the face of a franchise, he said.
00:25:02:07 - 00:25:25:27
Liv Moods
Screw PR, screw politically correct answers, I don't care. The moment they stop caring, it's time to worry. They don't want to be there anymore. We saw it with Jimmy Butler in Miami. He wanted out of there and he did not care. John Moran doesn't care. Here's my concern, though. You've got teams that probably wouldn't mind having John Morant leading their offense, right?
00:25:25:27 - 00:25:46:10
Liv Moods
I don't think any team would mind that. But my concern is the more of these clips that go circulating around the web, the lower jaws stock will go. In my humble opinion, the reality is John Morant. That should not shock anyone to hear me say this. John Morant can be a liability however you want to look at it.
00:25:46:13 - 00:26:07:14
Liv Moods
He can be a liability from an injury perspective because of the nature in which he plays basketball. Very exciting, very electric, very aggressive, but prone to injury. Okay, from an injury perspective, he's a liability. He has missed 99 games in his career due to injury. Illness. When he hurt his right shoulder he missed 47 games. Right knee injury 13 games.
00:26:07:20 - 00:26:45:27
Liv Moods
Left knee injury 12 games. Left ankle injury 11 games. So injury liability check off court liability. That's also a factor. We know that there was some off court shenanigans with John Morant that led to a 33 game suspension. These antics, while they might seem harmless because I guess from a legal perspective, they technically are. You know, if you want to look at it that way and be technical, they seem harmless, but they only create a PR nightmare for any team that has him on it, especially if he is the face of a franchise.
00:26:45:27 - 00:27:06:00
Liv Moods
Like I said, you are held to a very different standard when you are the face of a franchise. That is the reality. Now, if I'm on another team and I'm or if I am another team, that's not the Memphis Grizzlies. And I'm seeing ja morant right now, these clips that are circulating the web, the first thought that goes through my head is, oh, okay.
00:27:06:03 - 00:27:38:06
Liv Moods
So when shit hits the fan, which happens on every team job, is not afraid to call it out or expose it again, a liability. Do you want that as the face of your franchise that when things get messy or things don't go well, he is quick to let everybody know it does the good outweigh the bad? With John Moran, there is no denying the type of player that he is, the skill that he possesses, and the contributions he could make to any NBA team.
00:27:38:08 - 00:28:10:02
Liv Moods
Be real. Like, of course that that is that is common sense. You know, John Morant will make your team better in one way or the other. His talent speaks for itself, but is it worth the headache? Because, like I said, injury liability off court and tax liability and now potentially a media liability? I'm just not sure John Morant is positioning himself to be super attractive in the trade market, if that's what he's hoping to accomplish.
00:28:10:05 - 00:28:36:07
Liv Moods
Because like I said, those clips to me make it very clear he does not want to be in Memphis. He wants to leave. So if that's the case, I worry that he's making himself unattractive moving forward. Keep in mind, too, it was just a month or two ago that John Morant talked about wanting to represent himself and not have his agent do it.
00:28:36:09 - 00:28:57:06
Liv Moods
If that's the case, if that's the case, then I really don't. I don't know if these comments and the way in which that he's kind of showing this, like don't talk to me attitude is going to benefit him in the long run. I hope I'm wrong. I want nothing but the best for John Morant. You know, he's a killer player.
00:28:57:11 - 00:29:22:13
Liv Moods
He's wonderful to watch. He's exceptionally talented and I don't think he's even maxed out on his potential just yet, which is a really exciting thing when you're a star like John Morant. But I've also expressed many times before the concern that I have for. Are the antics and things going to stand in the way of how great he can be in the NBA?
00:29:22:15 - 00:29:40:10
Liv Moods
Because with a 33 game suspension, that was a lot of games missed, where we could have watched him continue to develop and be a great player in this league. To me, it's almost like Anthony Edwards and John Morant were like very similar trajectories and had that same type of it factor to them. One stayed out of trouble, the other one didn't.
00:29:40:13 - 00:30:01:09
Liv Moods
And we talk about one of them way more than the other. And I don't want that for John Moran. I want to see him be the face of a franchise that goes the distance. Is he standing in his own way? Only time will tell on that. Before we get into Driven Opinions, which is one of my favorite segments ever, I've got to talk to you about a Corsair.
00:30:01:10 - 00:30:29:25
Liv Moods
You ever heard of a Corsair? Well, step into the 2025 Lincoln Corsair GT plug in hybrid where style meets innovation for a limited time. Get 0% Apr for 36 months or 0.9% Apr for 72 months. And here's more good news qualifying Colorado residents can save an additional $3,500 with the Colorado EV tax credit. Go to landmark lincoln.com, or visit them down in Inglewood and take home a beautiful 2025 Corsair GTI.
00:30:29:25 - 00:30:47:05
Liv Moods
Okay, driven opinions. You guys know what it is, okay? Driven opinions a segment where I take a backseat. The back seats, the hot seat, all gas, no brakes on hot takes. My producer comes up with a couple of questions or prompts, if you will, and I have no idea what they are in advance. And she's going to just put them up, up on the screen.
00:30:47:05 - 00:31:01:03
Liv Moods
And I'm just going to tell you how I feel about it. Okay. So let's get into driven opinions driven by landmark legal.
00:31:01:06 - 00:31:19:24
Liv Moods
Oh yes. Oh yes oh yes. Let's get into it. Here we go. First prompt from Andy. What'll it be. The NFL trade deadline was earlier this week. If you could have traded for any player who would it have been. Well I got to tell you, it will haunt me probably in my nightmares for the rest of my life that we weren't more aggressive with Jaylen Waddle.
00:31:19:26 - 00:31:45:27
Liv Moods
Now, I understand there was maybe an aspect of were we able to afford a Jaylen Waddle here in the Denver Broncos? Broncos country? I don't know. I'm not the one handling all the finances on the back end. But that would have been a huge ad, in my humble opinion. That would have been really great. You just need to give Bo someone with reliable hands right now, you know, and someone that even if the throw is off, just makes it happen because the throws aren't always going to be perfect, right?
00:31:45:27 - 00:32:09:11
Liv Moods
They're not always going to go right into your hands. You need playmakers on offense, and I think that's something that the Broncos are struggling with right now reliable playmakers. Every once in a while, you get an Evan Ingram that makes a play. Then he doesn't. Every once in a while you get Troy Franklin and then you don't. So the just the reliability factor I think is what I'm struggling with the most right now with this Denver Broncos offense.
00:32:09:11 - 00:32:30:18
Liv Moods
So Jaylen Waddle to me would have been a nice addition in terms of being a hopefully reliable playmaker for Denver. So that's going to be the one that's going to be the one for me because I saw the rumblings and all the whispers about it, and I was like, wow, that would be nice. And then the deadline approached and no moves were made, which again.
00:32:30:20 - 00:32:46:08
Liv Moods
Does that show Sean Payton's confidence in this group? Yes, which is awesome. Maybe there's things we haven't seen from this group that they've got tucked up their sleeves, but based on what we've seen so far, that is the one thing that's going to stand in this Broncos team. What team's way is not the defense? No no no no.
00:32:46:08 - 00:33:11:28
Liv Moods
That defense could win a Super Bowl right now. As it stands, it's the offense. So that one might haunt me forever. Let's move on before I start crying okay. Next. What's next? What is your least favorite Thanksgiving side dish? Oh gosh. You know, I'm a savory girl. I like savory over sweet just about every single day of the week.
00:33:11:28 - 00:33:41:24
Liv Moods
So this is a really unpopular one, I'm afraid. Sweet potatoes. They don't really do anything for me, guys. Got to be honest now. Collard greens, some stuffing, some mashed potatoes. Yeah, yeah, I'm about it. I'm about it. But the sweet potato thing is not for me. It's just not for me. I'm not a huge fan of the sweet potato life, so that would probably be my my one, which is very, very unpopular.
00:33:41:28 - 00:34:04:00
Liv Moods
Very unpopular. Okay. Easy enough, easy enough. We've got one more segment here, guys. One more. And this one's not as easy to talk about. I'm going to be completely honest with you, and I'm about to be exceptionally vulnerable, so bear with me. Don't want to get emotional, although I might I there's no guarantee that I don't, unfortunately.
00:34:04:03 - 00:34:28:26
Liv Moods
As you guys saw, Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland passed away, at a very young, 24 years old due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Okay, I'm already getting emotional. This is tough. This is tough. And it does. It does strike a little bit of a nerve with me personally. And I'll. I'll. This is where I get to be a little bit more vulnerable.
00:34:28:28 - 00:35:14:03
Liv Moods
Mental health does not discriminate. Unfortunately. It really doesn't. And mental health battles are typically very silent ones. And I'm speaking from personal experience. I don't talk about this a ton on this show, but people that know me or people that have followed me for a very long time know I've been very vulnerable and transparent about it. And the reason that I do that is because I don't want anyone to ever feel like they are alone in their very dark or very difficult thoughts, because I think more people than, you know, when you pass by a group of individuals walking down the street, I guarantee you 60% of those people are battling battles quietly that nobody
00:35:14:03 - 00:35:38:02
Liv Moods
knows about. Back in college, I was actually hospitalized for suicide my sophomore year, which was a very interesting thing to go through. And I'll tell you why. I had a lot of really great things going for me at that time. Great things. I mean, a family that loved me, friends that were fantastic. I was a TCU showgirl.
00:35:38:04 - 00:36:14:01
Liv Moods
I really had what would appear to people as everything anyone could ever ask for, truly. And I think that was why I stayed quiet about it for so long, is I felt guilty for feeling the way that I felt. I felt embarrassed for feeling the way that I felt. I, I questioned constantly how could someone in my position that has everything they could ever one feel this horribly, or think this dark or not be appreciative enough of the things around them to want to stay on earth.
00:36:14:01 - 00:36:33:16
Liv Moods
You know that there was a lot of embarrassment and shame and guilt. And I got to tell you, when it got to the point where I just couldn't take it anymore, it wasn't that I was feeling a lot of things. It wasn't that I was feeling overly sad or overly frustrated or overly depressed or overly anxious. I was feeling nothing at all.
00:36:33:18 - 00:36:59:08
Liv Moods
And that was the scariest part for me, is why does someone like me, who's dancing on their dream dance team, who's going to a beautiful university, who has a family that loves them, who has friends that love them? I have all these great things going for me. Why do I feel like this? There's a shame that is attached to mental health that I don't think people understand truly is enough to keep someone silent.
00:36:59:11 - 00:37:19:07
Liv Moods
Honestly. And it did for me. I think there were a lot of people in my inner circle that, you know, I had no idea I got to the place that I had gotten. They had no idea it had gotten that bad, and it really had. And I really, really kept it very private and very quiet for so long.
00:37:19:07 - 00:37:39:24
Liv Moods
And I was just fighting it as as hard as I could fight it until I couldn't anymore. So it's really easy to see things like this. And, and I actually talk a lot with people. And I talked about this in my therapy after everything had happened and I had flown home from TCU, and I had to spend some time in therapy and spend some time around my family and all the things.
00:37:39:24 - 00:38:00:17
Liv Moods
And one of the things that I think was the most frustrating for me was like, naturally, I think society looks at something like this and is like, you know, one of the things that was spoken to me about it was how selfish what I tried to do was, unfortunately, like I said, I couldn't really feel anything in that moment.
00:38:00:17 - 00:38:18:18
Liv Moods
There was no feelings. I didn't have any thought about how is this going to affect my mom or my dad or my siblings or my friends? You just have no thoughts, really. I was truly numb to life at that point. And so I don't know, this this is, a very tough subject for me to talk about.
00:38:18:18 - 00:38:42:19
Liv Moods
It really is, because I have been there. And I hate this. He's 24, you know, and it's so easy to look at his life and be like, oh, he had everything he could have ever wanted. Why did this have to happen? And it just is so much more common than I think people realize. So I just wanted to take a second to share my story because again, I at that point in my life, there was no.
00:38:42:26 - 00:39:07:10
Liv Moods
If you're looking at it from a societal perspective, there was no reason I should have felt the way I felt. But mental health does not discriminate. It just does not. And I think the hardest part about mental health is that it's very quiet and it's really, really tough for people to ask for help. So this is maybe just an encouragement to don't wait for someone to tell you that they're struggling.
00:39:07:13 - 00:39:24:25
Liv Moods
I know it's a lot to ask. I know it's really hard. Check on your strong friends. Check on the friends that you don't ever think would be in this position, because they might be, and they're going to be very quiet about it until it's potentially too late. And that's exactly what happened with me. And I think by the grace of God, you know, I got the help that I needed.
00:39:24:25 - 00:39:43:28
Liv Moods
And I'm here to now tell the tale and hopefully encourage other people to not do what I tried to do and to work through things and and to rely on others and all the good stuff. But it's a tough conversation to have because I just think asking for help, you know, that's that's what people say when stuff like this happens.
00:39:43:28 - 00:40:05:08
Liv Moods
Don't don't be afraid to ask for help. The stigma around mental health, unfortunately, will always keep people from asking for help. So this is my encouragement to you to check in. Just check in with people. Check in with your strong friends. Check in with your quiet friends. Check in with the friends that look like they have a perfect life and everything is going smoothly for them.
00:40:05:08 - 00:40:22:19
Liv Moods
Because you may be that one person that asks, are you okay? And then they're not and they let you know. And that's when the pot has boiled over and they're finally vulnerable with you about it, and then they can get the help that they so desperately need. So this is very devastating. May he rest in peace. I hate seeing things like this.
00:40:22:19 - 00:40:44:01
Liv Moods
I know for a fact this is taking a toll on the Cowboys organization, because we know how loud and proud Dak Prescott is to talk about mental health. So this is just devastating all around. Yeah, I just check on your people because I know it's really easy to say, don't be afraid to ask for help. We will always be afraid to ask for help.
00:40:44:01 - 00:41:02:16
Liv Moods
More importantly, we will always be afraid to be vulnerable. Vulnerable about something that we may feel shame or guilt about. Because a lot of the times when people are struggling the most with their mental health, they're also fighting the guilt of why do I feel this way? It's a very difficult position to be in. Mental health is very real.
00:41:02:19 - 00:41:23:13
Liv Moods
So just check on your people. That's all. And, that being said, as soon as I wrap this show, I'm probably going to send a few texts and make a few phone calls because I have not checked in on my people in a little bit, and I want to make sure everyone's doing okay, because these types of things happen in the blink of an eye, and you never want to be in a position where you didn't feel like you did enough for your people.
00:41:23:15 - 00:41:43:24
Liv Moods
So may he rest in peace. I'm sorry to get so emotional. I did a really good job of not crying as hard as I wanted to, but this is important stuff to talk about. And I also want people to know. You know, this probably seems like a very cliche. Oh, she's just saying this thing. There have been plenty of times I have gone back and forth with people in my DMs who have been in a mental health crisis.
00:41:43:24 - 00:42:03:01
Liv Moods
I will continue to do that. I am very, very passionate about mental health. So if there is ever some, if you don't feel like you have anyone to turn to to talk about it, hell hit me up. I don't care, I just I hate seeing stuff like this and I'm praying for not only his family and friends, but also the Cowboys organization as a whole.
00:42:03:01 - 00:42:22:17
Liv Moods
You know, this was their brother. This was their teammate. I also think that these these men, while I say mental health doesn't discriminate, I also think these men are conditioned to work through pain. And while we may always be referring to that physically, I think there's also an aspect of that that's mental, you know. Oh, you're fine, get over it.
00:42:22:17 - 00:42:54:17
Liv Moods
You know, tough guy, rub some dirt on it. You know, men specifically are conditioned from a very, very young age to just rub some dirt on it. It's hard to be vulnerable. It's hard to be emotional. It's hard to tell people how you feel. But I promise you that little bit of a vulnerability or or guilt or shame or embarrassment that you may feel being honest about how you feel is way less uncomfortable and painful than losing you to mental health.
00:42:54:19 - 00:43:14:21
Liv Moods
So check on your people. We won't talk about this any more, because that was just awfully sad and dark. But it needed to be talked about. And again, I take mental health very, very, very seriously. So I just it wouldn't feel right to not address what happened. So okay, that being said, the Denver Nuggets do play tonight versus the Golden State Warriors.
00:43:14:21 - 00:43:33:07
Liv Moods
I will have a post-game show. We will also have Gianna Girardi in Ball Arena to give us a little bit of coverage and some really cool content. Following along with the Denver Nuggets and all things sports over there. So yeah, I'll do a post-game show later this evening. I won't have Gianna hopping on with me, but she will be doing her own stuff.
00:43:33:07 - 00:43:55:24
Liv Moods
So make sure you guys are following not only her, but also Gorilla Sports on all things socials just to keep up with everything we've got going on. The nuggets taking on the Golden State Warriors. Last time I checked, the nuggets were a ten point favorite, which I saw a questionable moody questionable Butler, questionable Al Horford. And then Jamal was upgraded to probable I think with some calf stuff.
00:43:55:24 - 00:44:16:02
Liv Moods
So looks like the nuggets will be in full health. They may have a couple injuries on the Warriors side of things. So we'll see how this plays out. But we know what happened. Game one you got a 50 piece from AG and you got a Steph Curry comeback in the fourth. So anything can happen against the Golden State Warriors I'll be excited to talk about all the things following the game.
00:44:16:02 - 00:44:32:29
Liv Moods
So make sure you guys tune in to the Gorilla Sports YouTube and all things socials. We'll be talking about the game post game, keep up with Gianna while she's at the game. And that's all for me for now. This has been another episode of Mood Swings with Liv moods I'm Liv moods tuning out until later. We'll be back.
00:44:32:29 - 00:44:43:14
Liv Moods
I'm tuning back in later today for a post game for the Denver Nuggets. And of course, we'll see you for another episode of Mood Swings. Monday, 4 p.m. Mountain Time, presented by Landmark Lincoln by.
