Nikola Jokic’s return headlines a loaded episode of MoodSwings as Liv breaks down what his comeback means for the Nuggets, the injury chaos still surrounding the roster, and why Peyton Watson has become a non-negotiable piece for Denver. On the football side, Liv dives into the Sean Payton–Bo Nix dynamic, explains why recent comments created unnecessary friction, and lays out what the Broncos must do now that the Russell Wilson contract is finally behind them. From cap space optimism to hard truths about playmakers, this episode covers where Denver sports stand — and where they’re headed.
Nikola Jokic is officially back, and his return couldn’t come at a better time for a Nuggets team that’s managed to stay afloat despite relentless injuries. Liv explains why Jokic’s early comeback matters not just for wins, but for MVP eligibility and Denver’s ceiling moving forward, while also sounding the alarm on Aaron Gordon’s latest setback and the ripple effects across the rotation. Peyton Watson’s emergence sparks a passionate case for why he must remain untouchable, regardless of trade chatter or salary complications, and why minutes — not starting labels — ultimately matter most.
On the Broncos front, Liv addresses the noise surrounding Sean Payton and Bo Nix, clarifying why recent comments created confusion and why alignment between quarterback and head coach is essential. With Russell Wilson’s contract finally off the books, the Broncos enter an offseason full of opportunity — but only if they aggressively pursue offensive playmakers and maximize the talent already on the roster. From cap space optimism to hard conversations about coaching structure and play-calling, this episode balances excitement with accountability as Denver looks ahead.

00;00;41;17 - 00;01;06;27
Liv Moods
Welcome. Welcoming everyone. Happy Friday! We are back with another episode of Mood Swings. I am Live Mood, your host of the show, and we have got some things to talk about. If you guys did not see the title of the show, we actually made a last minute change to the title of the show because this just in shock is breaking the news for us that Nikola Jokic is set to make his return tonight versus the Clippers.
00;01;06;27 - 00;01;26;27
Liv Moods
Yes, Nikola Jokic who has been out for some time with what we were all scared of, was going to be a major knee injury potentially season ending. He's been out since December 29th with a hyperextension to that left knee. Plans to return tonight versus the Los Angeles Clippers. We're going to get into that a little bit more towards the end of the show.
00;01;26;27 - 00;01;47;26
Liv Moods
I've still got some football stuff I want to discuss, but of course we had to mention this at the top of the show that Nikola Jokic finally making his return. We've watched some pretty great basketball, and I say that even though they've lost some games, we've watched some great basketball by this Denver Nuggets team. And the reason I call it great is they're finding ways to win without the most valuable player in the league.
00;01;47;26 - 00;02;07;07
Liv Moods
I mean, it is really hard to win basketball games in such a star studded league, a star driven league. When you lose your best player, a player that is a three time MVP, that is proven time and time again, he he really is the glue that holds this nuggets team together. When you have nine minutes in seasons past, it has been a nightmare.
00;02;07;13 - 00;02;24;20
Liv Moods
It's hard to watch. It's hard to even sit through. It's it's unbearable at times. But what we've seen from this Denver Nuggets team is truly seeing how deep they became in the off season, that depth, having to show up these guys off the bench, you know, it hasn't just been Jokic missing either. It's been Cam Johnson. It's been Christian Brown.
00;02;24;20 - 00;02;51;03
Liv Moods
It's been AG. Again. We're going to get into all of that. But definitely worth celebrating. Nikola Jokic has return tonight. And even better this Denver Nuggets team faces OKC on Sunday. In Denver. This is a huge game. And even better Nikola Jokic because of his speedy return that I think was a lot quicker than we anticipated.
00;02;51;06 - 00;03;10;26
Liv Moods
He's in a position to not only play versus OKC on Sunday to prove who the real MVP is. Sorry not sorry. He's also in a position to be eligible for the season awards meaning Nikola Jokic. If all goes well I'm gonna knock on some wood and he stays healthy. You've got Nikola Jokic who will be hopefully in the running and win another MVP.
00;03;10;26 - 00;03;27;29
Liv Moods
Because we do know you know it's just not even close. Most of the time he is the MVP. So really quickly let me go ahead and repost the show so I can let everybody know. We are I'm going to say not we. Who's we I am live come hang okay. Had to get that out of the way at the top of the show.
00;03;28;03 - 00;03;50;08
Liv Moods
Now we've got some other conversations that I want to have with you guys, that have to do with the NFL. I know that the Broncos season is done, but there are still conversations that we can, in fact have about this Denver Broncos team. I got tagged in a lot of stuff over the past couple of days, since the last show on Monday that were asking me my opinions on the Sean Payton Bo Nix controversy, if you will.
00;03;50;14 - 00;04;08;16
Liv Moods
I think a lot of people are kind of framing it as a controversy, believe it or not. I posed a question on Twitter. We'll get into that in a second. About some hypotheticals. And everyone was quick to jump down my throat and kind of assume that I was insinuating something that I wasn't, but it was more so to gather some information for the show today so I could talk about it a little bit more.
00;04;08;18 - 00;04;29;10
Liv Moods
Sean Payton, Bo Nix, they're having some, I guess you could call it drama. It definitely look that way. I don't think it's that deep. But most importantly, in the most important news of the week when it comes to the Denver Broncos, something that Broncos country should be very, very excited about, the Broncos are officially done with the Russell Wilson contract.
00;04;29;10 - 00;04;52;27
Liv Moods
Yes. Round of applause. This is a huge, huge deal. The amount of dead money that resulted in the Russell Wilson contract, I think, was terrifying. For the majority of Broncos country members. It was probably terrifying for the ownership of the Denver Broncos. But what I can absolutely respect is that the owners never flinched. They never flinched. They never made excuses.
00;04;52;29 - 00;05;18;20
Liv Moods
They just buckled up and they said, let's make the best of what we've got. And boy, did they. When you think about the dead money that was a result of this Russell Wilson contract and what the Broncos, despite that dead money, were able to do in the last couple of seasons under last season, a rookie quarterback in Bo Nix and a head coach and Sean Payton and then a second year quarterback in Bo Nix.
00;05;18;22 - 00;05;38;21
Liv Moods
It's pretty exceptional what they were able to do. They never flinched. They never wavered. They never made excuses for the Russell Wilson contract. They just kind of took it on the chin and they kept on keeping on. I respect them greatly for that. But it does feel like a praise Jesus hallelujah moment that the Broncos are officially done with the Russell Wilson contract.
00;05;38;21 - 00;05;58;25
Liv Moods
This opens up a lot of opportunities for the Denver Broncos that I want to touch on a little bit. I've mentioned that I'm going to be even louder, even more obnoxious, and I'm certainly more excited for next season. When I compare it to this season, this season, you guys know preseason, I was placing bets on the Denver Broncos to win the AFC West.
00;05;58;25 - 00;06;15;03
Liv Moods
I knew what they were capable of and I knew they were going to do great things. I knew that I was part of the club that didn't jump on board late. I early knew this Denver Broncos team was going to be something special. Now I'm even more excited for next season. And it's not just because I'm choosing to be optimistic, right?
00;06;15;03 - 00;06;30;10
Liv Moods
And I believe in this group and I care about this group and I want to see them thrive. Know there is a thing called cap space, and the Denver Broncos have quite a bit more of, in comparison to the last two seasons, with Bo Nix in his first and second year. You've got some cap space, you've got some draft picks.
00;06;30;12 - 00;06;51;16
Liv Moods
These are going to be very, very valuable for this Denver Broncos team in the offseason to prepare them for an even more successful season next year. I've always said and this was something that I think a lot of people wanted to fight me on, but I've always said one of the things that a lot of the haters this season wanted to use against the Denver Broncos, I actually thought was their strength.
00;06;51;18 - 00;07;08;26
Liv Moods
How cool was it to be 14 and three at the end of the regular season, and still have room to grow now? The haters were like, look at this, the worst 14 and three team we've ever seen. I looked at that and said they still managed to be 14 and three and they weren't perfect. They had a lot of issues.
00;07;08;26 - 00;07;30;23
Liv Moods
They still had things they needed to clean up. That should terrify people, that should terrify any person that is not a part of Broncos Country. Look at this team. Finding ways to win their mistakes aren't affecting their record. They're still winning football games. They're still beating. The Buffalo Bills, are still advancing to the AFC conference championship game. And they're not perfect.
00;07;30;23 - 00;07;48;00
Liv Moods
They made a lot of mistakes. What a beautiful position to be in, right? Because this team did have a lot that they needed to improve upon. They did have a lot of vulnerabilities that got exposed. They were making a lot of mistakes, especially offensively throughout the season. But yet they were still winning football games. To me, that was always one of their strengths.
00;07;48;00 - 00;08;05;18
Liv Moods
So how cool is it to come off of such a successful season and still have room to grow? In my opinion, that is an amazing position for the Denver Broncos to be in, which is why I am so excited about next season. So let's talk about it. I think the Denver Broncos need to be pretty aggressive in this off season.
00;08;05;20 - 00;08;25;12
Liv Moods
You need to get fast receivers with good hands. It's no longer an option. And I mean this in no way, shape or form am I trying to dig at the offensive weapons that we have right now. But the truth of the matter is remove your opinion and your bias from it. The truth is, compared to other rosters, we lack offensive playmakers.
00;08;25;12 - 00;08;43;24
Liv Moods
We do. Whether you want to look at a game you can watch film from the whole entire season, you'll find moments where the playcalling wasn't there. You'll find moments where Bo Nix made a, you know, a bad throw, but you're also going to find receivers that drop the ball. And unfortunately, following those games, we typically just blamed Bo Nix.
00;08;43;24 - 00;09;00;07
Liv Moods
That's what we do first, to blame first to celebrate. That's what happens when you're the quarterback of a football team in the NFL. So it was easy for people to often say, Bo Nix, look at this offense. He's leading an offense that's just so lackluster. There's so average. There were a lot of times where it wasn't both fault.
00;09;00;08 - 00;09;21;06
Liv Moods
There were drops that were being, you know, balls that were being dropped that were perfectly thrown to receivers. We need receivers that are fast, that have good hands, that can make plays. Okay. And you may sit there and go, listen, do I hear with my little ear that live mood is insinuating the Denver Broncos need playmakers. Don't they have one already up?
00;09;21;09 - 00;09;46;07
Liv Moods
Yes, yes. One could argue that Marvin Manz fits exactly what I'm talking about fast and good hands. One could also argue he was criminally underused. I am one, one is me. I am who I'm referring to. I believe we have a playmaker in Marvin Mims, but I also know that he was criminally underused. Not a whole lot we can do there, right?
00;09;46;07 - 00;10;06;19
Liv Moods
Not a whole lot we can do when Marvin Mims is just not being utilized in the ways that I believe he should be and could be utilized. So you do have playmakers. I don't want to make it sound like the Broncos have none. We just didn't see those being favorable in Sean Payton's play calling. Maybe there's a world where the play calling gets handed off to somebody else.
00;10;06;21 - 00;10;29;21
Liv Moods
Hello, do I hear a Davis Webb who's turning down head coaching interviews with the Raiders? I mean, do I hear an upgrade? Do I hear a you've been you know, you've been, promoted Davis Webb hopefully fingers and toes are crossed okay. So you need playmakers. That being said is it an Alec Pierce. Is it a Jaylen Waddle.
00;10;29;21 - 00;10;46;11
Liv Moods
Dare I say Tyreek Hill I don't know Justin Jefferson. How are you feeling in Minnesota I think you hate it. Let's come on over to Denver. We'd be happy to have you. You need playmakers. You need fast receivers with good hands. It's just not an option. So the Denver Broncos need to be aggressive in the off season. Please.
00;10;46;11 - 00;11;09;02
Liv Moods
And thank you I'm actually begging at this point. I don't think that anything is super out of the realm of possibility. And maybe I'm just being super optimistic, but when you get that cap space back, baby, really great things can happen when you free yourself of an absurdly large Russell Wilson contract. That kind of was a shot to the top of your foot, honestly.
00;11;09;06 - 00;11;32;19
Liv Moods
So this is a in my opinion, this is the best position the Denver Broncos could be in, right? They defied a lot of the odds. They they proved people wrong. They overachieved this season while still being imperfect, still having room to grow. And then you get my knee. You know, I don't like to say money fixes all problems because I don't believe that.
00;11;32;19 - 00;11;53;08
Liv Moods
But I do believe it fixes a whole lot of them. Yes, I do, I believe money does not solve everything, but damn does it solve a lot. Really, I believe that. So the Denver Broncos are in a position coming off of a season with a lot of momentum, a lot of positive things to take away from this season, hopefully keeping the majority of this group together, if at all possible.
00;11;53;16 - 00;12;17;05
Liv Moods
And they're getting a little bit of cap space to use. Okay, I think players want to play in Denver. I think Denver is a very, attractive place to play right now. If you're in the NFL, there's a new stadium coming in a few years, good coaching all around, a good quarterback with a lot of potential and a very high ceiling, a solid defense.
00;12;17;05 - 00;12;34;07
Liv Moods
This team is back on the map. I think people want to play in Denver, so I don't think anything is really out of the realm of possibilities. All I do know is the Denver Broncos need to be aggressive in the offseason and get some playmakers offensively and or find ways to use Marvin Mims, because I believe you've got a playmaker there.
00;12;34;07 - 00;12;53;18
Liv Moods
You've got a joker in him. You could even argue maybe a J.K. Dobbins as a as a joker on this team. So it's also, you know, simultaneously you've got some things that may be on the back end on the coaching side need to be adjusted in the off season in order to accurately use what you've got. But also let's add to it.
00;12;53;18 - 00;13;15;01
Liv Moods
Of course I want a playmaker. I want a receiver that is quick and fast and has good reliable hands for Bo Nix, please and thank you. I asked a very simple question on Twitter and who you guys did not really like it. No, you weren't fond of it at all. I very simply asked, and I want to explain what I meant by this before you guys put me in another chokehold.
00;13;15;01 - 00;13;38;23
Liv Moods
Okay? I said if I put that in all caps, too, but I don't think people read that part. Yeah, I think they skimmed past that. It's fine if the Broncos ownership were to choose between Bo Nix and Sean Payton, who are they choosing? I just asked the question. So me you know, even my friend here a keep Talib gets in the comments and says Liv, stop.
00;13;38;29 - 00;13;58;23
Liv Moods
Exclamation point. Okay, let me explain myself. Okay? I'm not insinuating anything. I made a video and I made it very clear any conversations about Sean Payton being fired cut it out, right. You guys already know how I feel about Bo Nix. I am a huge bo lever. Okay, so I just ask a simple question. I keep two leaves, says cut it out, Liv.
00;13;58;24 - 00;14;16;01
Liv Moods
Let me explain myself. Keep. Please, let me explain. Here we go. Many of you assume that with this question I was trying to stir the pot, which I do a lot. So fair. Or I was trying to insinuate that I believe this is something that's on the way. Maybe there's trouble in Paradise, and this is a decision that needs to be made wrong.
00;14;16;01 - 00;14;34;06
Liv Moods
I'm not thinking any of that. But here's what I do want you guys to not be naive to. I appreciate a Broncos fan more than the rest of them. Okay, because I am one, and I love when we can all get together and be very positive about what's happening in Broncos Country. That being said, I don't want us to ignore what's going on here either.
00;14;34;09 - 00;14;54;16
Liv Moods
I've had many of you ask me my thoughts on the Sean Payton talking about Bo Nix's injury history, and then Bo Nix calling a very last minute quick presser saying, I don't know why he's saying that. You know, I'm going to tell you my thoughts on that situation. Here's the deal. No, I don't think Sean Payton violated HIPAA because Sean Payton is not a doctor.
00;14;54;16 - 00;15;17;12
Liv Moods
I don't think he said anything that was really all that awful. Now, do I also believe, though, in the same breath, that Sean Payton should not have disclosed information, that he has kept very quiet and private and discreet all season long? Why now? Sean? Sean, when reporters typically ask you about injuries, you are quick to shut them down.
00;15;17;12 - 00;15;45;08
Liv Moods
Make them either feel or look stupid or tell them it's none of their business. So why is it any different in this moment? Why do we feel the need to talk about something that's just going to make the public or the haters go, oh, trouble for Bo Nix. He's injury prone. Here we go. It's just, to me, an unnecessary conversation to have Sean Payton has always been very proud of a discreet and private mindset.
00;15;45;08 - 00;16;08;02
Liv Moods
That's what he leads with. You know, he's quick to tell a reporter to shut it down. But now all of a sudden we're like really loose with it. We're talking about anything. We don't really care, even if it's not factually correct. We're just saying whatever. So he doesn't like reporters being nosy. The reporters get nosy in regards to Bo Nix following such an amazing season, and now we're just saying whatever.
00;16;08;02 - 00;16;18;16
Liv Moods
I just don't know if that was the appropriate way to go about it. I just don't know if it was appropriate. Now, here's my only concern.
00;16;18;18 - 00;16;49;00
Liv Moods
When it comes to this interaction between Sean Payton and Bo Nix. And I want you to think about this. The reason that I posed the question that made everybody so upset, I want you to think about it from a bigger picture, the bigger picture that this is painting to the public. Most importantly, I have had many times this season as I think have a lot of Broncos country members where I have thought to myself or even observed and said, it feels like Sean and Bo are not on the same page.
00;16;49;03 - 00;17;09;27
Liv Moods
I felt that many times and I'm sure I'm not alone in that. So in this moment right here, right now, with this little interaction about Bo Nix's ankle, no, I don't think it was this god awful thing. And oh my gosh, we need to be worried and hit the panic button. No. But from a bigger picture it does kind of make me go, are we still not on the same page, fellas?
00;17;09;29 - 00;17;43;21
Liv Moods
Because you and I both know it is really hard to be a successful football team if your quarterback and your coach are not on the same page. We have seen this story unfold before, so me posing that question is not a hey right here, right now. If you were the ownership, who would go? But when I look at the situation that happened where Bo Nix is having to call his own press conference to address things that his coach said that were incorrect about him, to me, that is reflective of not being on the same page.
00;17;43;24 - 00;18;05;29
Liv Moods
It's really hard to be successful when you're not on the same page between quarterback and coach. That's a fact. It's really hard. And typically when you get to that point where you're at a crossroads between your coach and your and your quarterback, guess what typically happens? One of you has to go.
00;18;06;01 - 00;18;27;09
Liv Moods
One of you has to go. So my only thought here is that if Sean and Bo can't ever get on the same page, and maybe they can't, I hope that's not true. I don't want to have to choose, but we know how this plays out. If there's a world where they can't get on the same page, one will have to go.
00;18;27;16 - 00;18;44;09
Liv Moods
So that's the only reason I ask that question. Because to me, the bigger picture on that injury moment where Bo Nix had to come and clarify what Sean Payton said to me, the little details of did he violate HIPAA? Did he do this? What? Was he lying? Is he what about it? That is our trouble in Paradise. No.
00;18;44;09 - 00;19;05;04
Liv Moods
But the bigger picture is they're clearly not on the same page. That has to change immediately, because the longer you go not being on the same page, the quicker the ownership has to look at the situation and go, okay, who are we keeping and who are we getting rid of? Because this isn't going to work, so you cannot win a Super Bowl ever.
00;19;05;06 - 00;19;30;15
Liv Moods
If you're two main leaders. Being coach and quarterback aren't seeing eye to eye. You can't. That's not an opinion. That's a fact. So, is this a major cause for concern right now, in this moment? No. But it definitely creates a little bit of pause where I go. Okay, guys, he the boys are having fun, but, like, let's clear this all up before next season, please.
00;19;30;15 - 00;19;52;04
Liv Moods
And thank you. Let's clear all this up before next season because I see really big and great potential with this team. I'm feeling nothing but excitement as we move into the next season. But your quarterback in your coach must always be on the same page. And there were many times this season where I questioned if they were or if they weren't.
00;19;52;09 - 00;20;17;20
Liv Moods
And a moment like this where Bo Nix is calling a press conference to address things that his head coach said about him that are untrue to me, is just reflective of not being on the same page, which is fine. But let's wrap it up and let's get on the same page ASAP. Okay. That's it. So the other aspect of that is don't give your opponents, any reason to believe that you've got vulnerabilities.
00;20;17;20 - 00;20;42;22
Liv Moods
You know, I immediately saw like Chargers fans and bills fans and whoever else felt like talking immediately, like, look, trouble in Paradise, don't even give them that. Don't even give them that opportunity to be satisfied with the idea that the Denver Broncos have trouble in Paradise because they don't. So come on, guys, let's tighten up. Especially after the season you've had.
00;20;42;24 - 00;21;02;16
Liv Moods
My God. So this now leads me to another point, which is, I think the saving grace, to be honest with you is Davis Webb. You promote Davis Webb, okay. So that that way he's your he's your offensive coordinator. He's the buffer now between Sean Payton and a Bonucci that may never get on the same page, but at least it's not direct.
00;21;02;19 - 00;21;22;11
Liv Moods
There's not that direct friction. You've got someone in the middle that is kind of working as the middle man. Let it be Davis Webb Wright make him the play caller. It's about damn time. It's been time, guys. Make him the play caller. It is time. Let him be the buffer between Sean and Bo. When they start to butt heads.
00;21;22;11 - 00;21;47;22
Liv Moods
And this is something that the fans have been calling for all season. We've wanted a different play caller. We wanted Davis Webb to get his opportunity. He's turning down interviews for another head coaching position in the AFC West. Promote him. It's time. It's time for Davis Webb to be promoted. And I do think that will also work not only to benefit the play calling, but also to benefit the potential friction between Bo Nix and Sean Payton.
00;21;47;25 - 00;22;20;22
Liv Moods
Okay, so there you go. All right. A couple of other things before we get out of here. The Denver Nuggets Nikola Jokic is back. But unfortunately the injury bug did strike again. Oh my God not this isn't an injury bug. This is an injury infestation. Call an exterminator. The injury bugs are getting a little out of control in ball arena I've had enough of it okay Aaron Gordon is set to be reevaluated in 4 to 6 weeks with yet another hamstring injury.
00;22;20;23 - 00;22;46;26
Liv Moods
Hate it. With some potential moves on the horizon. I've seen some conversations about Zeke, Naji, Julian Strother. I mean no disrespect, but I think that they could probably go and we would be okay. They're just not serving super, super mandatory role in this rotation at the moment. You know, obviously with the injured bodies, you need as much help as you can get off the bench.
00;22;46;29 - 00;23;11;02
Liv Moods
But when it comes to me looking at moves to make ahead of the trade deadline, anything but Peyton Watson, actually, anything but Peyton Watson, Aaron Gordon, Nikola Jokic and Jamal and Tim Hardaway. Oh I said it. The rest do it. That what you will you can assume that I'm a hater of this player or that player.
00;23;11;02 - 00;23;35;08

That's really not the case. I'm just saying those are my don't touch players. Valanciunas for for obvious reasons as well, having him as a backup has been massive. But most importantly a guy like Peyton Watson you don't let him go. And I am seeing conversations. So help me God I'm going to smile through this because if not I will look like I'm a psychopath, ready to just like, demolish.
00;23;35;10 - 00;23;57;17
Liv Moods
Peyton Watson to the Lakers simply cannot happen. I will never recover. I will need 365 business days to recover from that nonsense. Please. Nuggets. Figure it out. Okay? Please. You've got money. I know you do. And I know you're trying your very, very darndest to avoid that second apron. But sometimes we have to make sacrifices for the people that they that we love.
00;23;57;19 - 00;24;15;12
Liv Moods
And we love Peyton Watson here in this city. So figure it out. It's mandatory. No, but for real, let's talk about it. The fact that Aaron Gordon is now out another 4 to 6 weeks should just be more motivation to find a way to keep Peyton Watson. You will not win basketball games without Aaron Gordon and without Peyton Watson.
00;24;15;12 - 00;24;25;25
Liv Moods
I'm here to tell you that right now. That's the sad truth of the matter. I've seen some conversations. What about Austin Reaves for Peyton Watson who's playing defense?
00;24;25;27 - 00;24;49;24
Liv Moods
Who's playing defense then? Peyton Watson is kind of a non-negotiable to me right now. And I'm not kidding about it. So here's the deal. This this now poses the question who starts when CB Johnson and yo catch return. We know yo coach is returning tonight. Yay! He is. And we could not be more excited about it. But who starts when you get CB and Johnson back?
00;24;49;26 - 00;25;05;10
Liv Moods
Here's the deal. Based on all the hype I just threw about Peyton Watson, this may shock you, but hear me out. Considering the money that was spent on CB, you need to start CB.
00;25;05;12 - 00;25;25;01
Liv Moods
And that's all I'm going to say on that. That being said, when he comes off the bench, he deserves starter minutes over CB yes, I said what I said. Yeah, I've never once said that CB doesn't deserve his bag.
00;25;25;03 - 00;25;57;20
Liv Moods
Or he didn't deserve to get paid because he did. He helps win a championship. He was a starter last season. He he overachieved. He exceeded expectations. All the things. Love it. And to be honest with you, I don't really care who starts. I more care about who finishes. And I actually know for a fact. David Adelman feels the same way, because when he was asked about Russell Westbrook last season and whether or not he was going to close out games and start games and all that, he's like the closure of the game is whoever's playing the best.
00;25;57;22 - 00;26;29;25
Liv Moods
I believe yes, there is a world where your five starters should be your five best players. If that were the case and you completely remove how much money was spent on CB, Peyton Watson would be a starter for the Denver Nuggets. And it's not close. Guys. He's playing exceptionally great basketball right now. It's not close. If you if if you're basing a starting five solely off of who your five best players are, it's not close.
00;26;29;25 - 00;26;51;28
Liv Moods
I don't care who's healthy and who comes back. Peyton Watson as a starter. That's a fact. He is one of your five best Denver Nuggets right now. Am I wrong? I don't think I am. So the proof is in the pudding right now with what Peyton Watson is doing on both sides of the floor. And that's the key.
00;26;52;01 - 00;27;14;13
Liv Moods
Now I hope CB comes back from injury, plays lights out and reminds everybody why he got his bag in the first place. That's what I hope. I hope he plays his play matches. The price tag. Duh. Of course I think he wants that as well. But I'm actually in this moment right now, I'm more focused on the guys that are currently contributing to winning basketball games.
00;27;14;19 - 00;27;39;13
Liv Moods
And Peyton Watson has been mandatory for this team in terms of the success they've been able to have with such an injured roster. He has come up huge for this team and. CB I'm not saying that he doesn't deserve a starting spot when he comes back, but he certainly doesn't deserve starting minutes. If Peyton Watson keeps playing the way he's playing, it's very simple.
00;27;39;15 - 00;28;06;03
Liv Moods
Peyton Watson should not be punished just because people come back from injury, because as of right now, he is one of your best Denver Nuggets. And if you want to take a look at CBS numbers prior to being injured, they don't compare to what CB or what part is delivering right now. In this moment, you compare Christian Brown's numbers before he was injured to what you're getting out of pot right now.
00;28;06;03 - 00;28;26;09
Liv Moods
In this moment, they're not even close. So no, Peyton Watson should not be punished just because a CB or Cam Johnson comes back because he's shown up and he's done his job, and he is far surpassed any expectation that we set for him this season or coming off of the bench. Do I believe he should be a starter over CB?
00;28;26;13 - 00;28;49;27
Liv Moods
No, because we paid CB way too much money for that. But do I believe Peyton Watson deserves starting minutes even with those players back and healthy? Absolutely, absolutely. I do so I hope CB comes back and reminds us all why he got paid. And I believe he can and I think he's more than capable. We just got to see it.
00;28;50;01 - 00;29;12;14
Liv Moods
But as it stands right now, Peyton Watson deserves starting minutes regardless of who comes back on the floor. He has played exceptional on both sides of the floor and that's the key. And the Denver Nuggets better do everything in their power if they're trying to avoid the second apron, I get it. But they better do everything in their power to move pieces around that are not Peyton Watson.
00;29;12;14 - 00;29;30;09
Liv Moods
I'm telling you right now it's a big mistake, especially with how banged up Aaron Gordon's body is. And this may be kind of a hot take, but the way in which Aaron Gordon plays basketball, it's an injury prone style of game. He's aggressive. He's not afraid to run into a brick wall to get a play. That's just who he is.
00;29;30;16 - 00;29;51;18
Liv Moods
So him dealing with these injuries on and off again, on and off again might be something that continues. You need a guy like Peyton Watson off your bench or to fill in as a starter. You just do okay Nikola Jokic is back tonight. Really nothing else matters. I'm going to wrap this up so that the next person can get in here and talk about how phenomenal the Colorado Avalanche are.
00;29;51;18 - 00;30;11;25
Liv Moods
We're just having fun guys. Jokic is back okay the Denver Nuggets have I will say given me a couple of heart attacks here and there watching them play. But they they have a lot of fight right now. They're still the third best team in the Western Conference which is massively impressive considering you haven't had Nikola Jokic since, what, December 29th or something.
00;30;11;25 - 00;30;41;07
Liv Moods
December. Something you haven't had Nikola Jokic since December and you're getting out of him December 19th I think it was I don't know it was something you haven't had Nikola Jokic for a while. He's back. He's eligible for season awards. He's ready hopefully to play on Sunday versus OKC. And the Denver Nuggets team despite not having Nikola Jokic for around a month, is still the third best team in the Western Conference.
00;30;41;09 - 00;31;00;17
Liv Moods
