Lamar Is NOT the Problem | GS MoodSwings

Episode Summary

The Ravens’ loss is NOT on Lamar. If a playoff game comes down to a field goal, that’s a team failure — not a QB one. Tyler Loop likely won’t be kicking in Baltimore next year, but the discourse better not touch Lamar. Three straight years of postseason heartbreak, none of them on him. He gave the Ravens a real shot with 3 TDs fresh off injury…with no run game, pressure collapses, and questionable coaching. Lamar can only do so much. Meanwhile, it’s a cold world in the NFL. The Raiders, Cardinals and Browns wasted no time firing their coaches. Vegas is paying $50M to coaches NOT on their staff next season. Cardinals still haven’t had a HC last more than six years in over a century. And as the Broncos gear up for the playoffs…is Sean Payton truly the mastermind?

00;00;18;04 - 00;00;41;14

MoodSwings

I am the proud new owner of a 2025 Lincoln Nautilus. Could not love my car more. Could not recommend you stopping by their location anymore. So make sure you do that. But enough about cars. Let's get into the show.

00;00;41;17 - 00;01;00;26

MoodSwings

Welcome back to another episode of Mood Swings with Liv moods. I am Liv moods and we are getting right into things because as you guys know, our final regular season victory Monday. Yes, the post season is about to begin. We just rounded out the regular season. Week 18. The Denver Broncos getting a win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

00;01;00;26 - 00;01;19;00

MoodSwings

This means officially they are the number one seed in the AFC. Well, what does that mean Liv? That means they get a first round bye and home field advantage throughout the playoffs. We know home field advantage matters a lot for Denver sports teams, especially when you consider the fact that it's the mile high city. The altitude is a problem.

00;01;19;07 - 00;01;36;26

MoodSwings

But more than that, the Denver Broncos have been a problem when they play at home, only losing one game at home this season. So home field advantage will work very much in their favor. It's a really good thing for them to have. We're going to get into all things conversations about Denver. Some of my concerns I know Liv moods.

00;01;36;26 - 00;01;58;03

MoodSwings

The Broncos fan does have some concerns as we head into the postseason. Thankfully, like I said, that first round bye allows the Denver Broncos to kind of tidy some things up, maybe polish and refine some things so that they can get themselves ready for the postseason run that they're hopefully planning to have. And haha, nanny nanny poo poo.

00;01;58;03 - 00;02;18;02

MoodSwings

Hahahahaha. To the haters, who said the Denver Broncos are a first round exit? Not technically because they're a first round bye. So who's laughing now? Me. I'm laughing now because they're not a first round bye. It's actually not even possible for them to be a first round exit because they're a first round bye nanny. Nanny poo poo on you.

00;02;18;05 - 00;02;37;01

MoodSwings

Yes. You're waiting for your moment. You won't ever get it now. Second round exit. I don't know, you never said that. So? So regardless, whatever you said to me, all the DMs that you that you sent, all the tweets that you tweeted, all the things that you tagged me in, they're a first round exit. No they're not. They're actually a first round bye.

00;02;37;01 - 00;02;54;26

MoodSwings

So while your team potentially could be a first round exit, my team will be resting. Yes it's true. Read it and weep. Okay, let's get into some things. I'm going to tweet out and say I am Liv. Come hang. Same thing I do every week. Okay, good. Let's let the people know we have a few things to discuss.

00;02;54;29 - 00;03;19;05

MoodSwings

Obviously, we're gonna get into all things Broncos. I was going to talk a little bit of Denver Nuggets with you guys, but, the entire team is not playing anymore. That's the truth. I woke up this morning. I was like, woo hoo! You know, we got an L the other night. Not great. Versus the Brooklyn Nets. Wasn't super happy with that, but was happy about the fact that Aaron Gordon and KB were back in the mix considering Valanciunas Cam Johnson, Nikola Jokic all out.

00;03;19;07 - 00;03;35;08

MoodSwings

But now throw in Jamal. He's out to AG and CB. They're out again. You know they kind of dangled the carrot there. But they are right back to being out and unavailable for this team. So not much to discuss on the nuggets front I don't even really want to discuss it because it'll probably just make me annoyed.

00;03;35;15 - 00;03;58;17

MoodSwings

So let's just stick to football today. We're going to keep our conversations there because the playoff picture is set. It is official. We know who is in the playoffs and who is. I want to start with last night's game. There's a lot to discuss here. There's a lot to unpack, as you guys know. Yes. If you remember, if you tune in into the show, you know, I so desperately needed the Ravens to win this one.

00;03;58;20 - 00;04;26;29

MoodSwings

I did, I did I had a parlay actually, that had the bears to make the playoffs, the Vikings to miss the playoffs and the Steelers to also miss the playoffs. And all I needed was the Ravens to do their big one and to beat the Steelers and to make the playoffs so that the Steelers could not. And unfortunately for me and for all Ravens fans, they were unable to do so.

00;04;26;29 - 00;04;47;10

MoodSwings

So let me start with this though, because I see a lot of conversations happening and rightfully so, right? It does feel like there is this weird Baltimore curse thing. It's like no matter how good they are, no matter how well Lamar Jackson is playing, no matter how well Derrick Henry may be playing, they just are always coming up short if a playoff.

00;04;47;10 - 00;05;09;13

MoodSwings

Okay, let me make this very clear. If a playoff game is decided by a field goal, that is a team problem. The team is to blame, not the kicker. Now can you throw the remote, say some cuss words, you know, to talk trash about the kicker that ruins your parlay or whatever? Of course. Yes. The kicker, I'm sure.

00;05;09;16 - 00;05;30;20

MoodSwings

There was nobody on this planet that probably felt more upset on this Monday than the Baltimore Ravens rookie kicker Tyler Loop. Sadly, not sure we'll see him kicking a football in Baltimore next season. Sadly not sure we'll see him kicking a football ever again. Okay, what's worse, the turnover rate between kickers in the league or coaches?

00;05;30;22 - 00;05;48;05

MoodSwings

Well, I don't know because today we're seeing a lot of coaches lose their you lose their coaching status okay. It's a really tough league. It's a cold business. We know how this goes. It is business first and football second. That's the that's the only way you can have a successful football team. At the end of the day it sucks.

00;05;48;05 - 00;06;08;00

MoodSwings

But it's true. I don't think this rookie, kicker in Tyler loop will be kicking again in Baltimore. It's really tough. They were in a pressured situation. Game was on the line. That being said though, when you pull things back a little bit and you get a different POV, you're able to if you know ball, have a conversation and say if it came down to a field goal, this is a team problem, not a kicker problem.

00;06;08;00 - 00;06;26;07

MoodSwings

Yes, the kicker choked under pressure. He did not do his job. The job that he trains every day to do. Unfortunately, it did not happen for him. But this was a team problem, right? There were a lot of things going wrong in this game. In order for the Ravens to let this one slip away, here's the discourse.

00;06;26;12 - 00;06;48;01

MoodSwings

There's going to be a lot of discourse happening with the Ravens, right? Another season where they just couldn't figure it out. And it's frustrating. But it is what it is. There's going to be a lot of discourse around the Ravens. What we are not going to talk about though or question is Lamar Jackson. We're not we're not going to do it because every single year.

00;06;48;02 - 00;07;03;28

MoodSwings

Oh my gosh you guys, it's just like clockwork with you I swear every single year when the Ravens can't get to that next level, when they can't make it to the Super Bowl, when they when they're eliminated from the playoffs, all of a sudden I see the discourse and it's all about Lamar Jackson. Why is that the why?

00;07;03;29 - 00;07;30;21

MoodSwings

Because in 2023 it was Zay Flowers who fumbled versus the Chiefs. Yes. In 2024 it was Mark Andrews who dropped versus the bills. And now in 2025, it's Tyler Lewis who missed a field goal versus the Steelers. Why are you talking about Lamar Jackson. Why are you talking about Lamar Jackson. He is not the problem I'm afraid you can blame the curse that is in Baltimore, because it does feel like they're starting to become one over there.

00;07;30;21 - 00;07;48;29

MoodSwings

I don't know what's going on. You can blame Harbaugh because I do think it's time for them to part ways with him. If we're being honest. But we are not going to blame Lamar Jackson. No way at all. Okay, straight back from an injury. You get three touchdown passes from this guy to give you a real shot at the postseason.

00;07;49;01 - 00;08;13;26

MoodSwings

Pair that with no run game. Pair that was choking under pressure. Pair that with questionable coaching. And Lamar Jackson can only do so much to save this Ravens team. So we're not going to have a discourse about Lamar Jackson. We're not okay because every year I see it we find a way to blame Lamar. But I remember some big moments and not so good ones from Zay Flowers, Mark Andrews.

00;08;13;26 - 00;08;30;05

MoodSwings

And now you throw Tyler loop into the mix okay. Those things have nothing to do with Lamar Jackson yet. That is the conversation we love to entertain. When the Ravens can't make it to the postseason and or don't make it very far in the postseason, this no longer feels like Lamar Jackson. Problem. This feels like a coaching issue.

00;08;30;07 - 00;08;46;17

MoodSwings

It feels like a culture issue. And where does the culture usually stem from? Quarterback and coach and we just saw Lamar Jackson last week talk about you know, I don't know where people are getting the idea that I'm not injured, that I don't want to play. You know, they're asking questions specifically, how do you feel about Harbaugh?

00;08;46;17 - 00;09;05;20

MoodSwings

What is your gut? It's just it feels like there might be trouble in Paradise when it comes to Harbaugh and his time in Baltimore. I think a lot of people believe it's time to just part ways. Let's move on. You know, Baltimore is no longer serving Harbaugh, and Harbaugh is no longer serving Baltimore. It's just time to make that split.

00;09;05;22 - 00;09;24;11

MoodSwings

But again, I can just I can see I love we spent a lot of time on this show talking about haters, but they make it so easy for me. They really do. They do. They give me so much content to discuss because it feels like you're just waiting for the moment that you get to have your I told you so.

00;09;24;13 - 00;09;51;27

MoodSwings

And a lot of you who have had and entertained this discourse about Lamar Jackson for years and years and years, he can't throw. He's overrated. He's not an MVP. He'll never win a Super Bowl. All the things that you have to say about Lamar Jackson, it's interesting to me because 90% of the time, the game or the season that you are trying to use in your argument that Lamar Jackson is not who we know he is, which is a great quarterback in this league.

00;09;51;29 - 00;10;16;02

MoodSwings

Usually it's not Lamar Jackson's fault as to why their season wasn't great. We started this year with the Baltimore Ravens with a Swiss cheese defense and pretty questionable coaching going on. Okay. And injuries per usual. You know, there's a lot of issues in Baltimore. And to me, Lamar Jackson is just not one of them. He's just not you know, to me, there's a few quarterbacks and athletes that are just off limits.

00;10;16;02 - 00;10;33;09

MoodSwings

And Lamar is one of them. So shut up. ZIP your pie hole immediately. I've had enough of it. The discourse will not be about Lamar Jackson. If you want to talk about coaching, you want to talk about the fact that you've got Derrick Henry and like, where's the run game? You know, we can talk about that, but we're not going to question Lamar Jackson in this moment because he was not the problem.

00;10;33;09 - 00;10;50;00

MoodSwings

I'm afraid okay. He wasn't he was injured. He was dealing with a lot of stuff going on injury wise. Like, we're not going to blame the man who came back from an injury and threw three touchdown passes and put you in a really good position to make a postseason run. We're not going to do that, okay. Because he did his job as far as I'm concerned.

00;10;50;00 - 00;11;12;22

MoodSwings

Last night he did. There's some other things that need to be addressed in Baltimore. So let's focus on that okay. Let's move on from Baltimore specifically though, because here's the deal. The coaches are losing jobs left and right okay. We've got the Cardinals. We've got the Seahawks not the Seahawks Pete Carroll I'm so sorry. You're not with the Seahawks anymore.

00;11;12;22 - 00;11;38;02

MoodSwings

You're now with the Raiders. Not anymore. Sorry again. There we go. Salt in the wound. My apologies. You've got okay. Here's who's been fired here. The head coaches that have fired the Raiders the Cardinals the Browns. And I'm missing one. Falcons. That's right. Okay. So what are these coaches have in common? They lost a lot. Some would call them losers.

00;11;38;02 - 00;11;51;07

MoodSwings

I'm not going to do that. I think they're having a rough enough day. I don't need to call them that. That feels a little. That feels a little too far. But if you want to be technical about it, yes, they lost a lot, which some would say that makes you a loser. Okay, fine, but they're having a bad day.

00;11;51;07 - 00;12;13;22

MoodSwings

Let's not go there yet, okay? We have some coaching changes already happening. These teams wasted zero time. They looked at this season and they said, yeah, you are the problem. You're gone. Like I said earlier, kickers and coaches, the turnover rate is quick. Okay. Because there's a lot of good coaches out there that can be very quickly slotted up to a head coaching position and do just fine.

00;12;13;22 - 00;12;33;29

MoodSwings

So if you are the head coach of an NFL franchise, you better win football games. And if you can't, everyone's replaceable. You will get replaced very quickly. And we've already got four of them right here. Whoop! They're gone. See ya. Okay, let's talk about it though I want to talk mostly I want to start with the Browns. The Browns.

00;12;33;29 - 00;12;53;05

MoodSwings

This is an interesting one. For whatever reason, Stefanski just had a weird energy about him, and it really did put a sour taste in my mouth. And I'm not too fond of him as a coach. Do I think that he is worthy of a job? Sure. As a human, do I think I don't know him as a human?

00;12;53;05 - 00;13;19;09

MoodSwings

I would like to think he's great, but I started to get just weird energy from him and the way in which he handled Shadow Sanders. Okay, Shadow Sanders dropping to the fifth round was egregious and out of control and unnecessary, and I don't agree with it whatsoever. But it is what it is. He got drafted. You know, I think the point was proven when he got drafted in the fifth round, but now he's on the team.

00;13;19;12 - 00;13;40;13

MoodSwings

You played Dillon Gabriel over him. Not sure why. I mean, automatically right there. I'm starting to question if there's some like underlying beef happening here. What's going on. It doesn't make sense. But then we're starting to see little moments right. Comments made in the post games. Him having the wrong call sheet on his right. What are we talking about?

00;13;40;13 - 00;14;01;27

MoodSwings

I mean, it just started to feel, dare I say, a little sabotage by by Stefanski. Really? Really. So Stefanski, I don't think will have a ton of problems picking up a new job. But here's going to be the really big problem for the Browns. Who the hell wants to coach there? I'm sorry. Someone's got to say it.

00;14;02;03 - 00;14;28;17

MoodSwings

Who wants to take on that dumpster fire? How many seasons do we have to go through? Hoping and praying that someone, whether it's the quarterback or it's a new coach, is going to turn this franchise around? It kind of feels like lost cause. Honest to goodness. Now, maybe a new coach is what you need, but we've seen this before and it hasn't been the answer.

00;14;28;19 - 00;14;51;12

MoodSwings

So, I don't know if Stefanski would have had a better start with sure, Sanders, meaning he would have set his ego aside and allowed Sanders to have the opportunity, because we did see improvement in this Cleveland Browns team and how they were showing up on Sundays when Sanders was starting over, Dylan Gabriel. So would Stefanski be in a better position?

00;14;51;12 - 00;15;11;00

MoodSwings

Was Stefanski is weird beef with this child? I'm going to call him a child just to embarrass Stefanski a little bit. It's like you've got beef with, like, this young kid, like he's not a kid, but he's kind of a kid compared to you. Any of this weird beef. And it feels a little sabotage, and I just don't understand it.

00;15;11;02 - 00;15;37;19

MoodSwings

So I, I, I don't know, I don't I would there have been would Stefanski still have his job in Cleveland if he would have put his pride and ego aside and just played should or Sanders maybe. I think that was weird. And I think other people started to pick up on it. Even people that weren't like, sure, Sanders truth and weren't huge fans of or Sanders were seeing through what Stefanski was up to.

00;15;37;19 - 00;15;56;07

MoodSwings

I mean, it was kind of becoming a little too obvious where you just had to address it. Like, what are we doing here? Why are you intentionally making this man look bad? He is the leader of your offense. It's not a great look for you. It's you're you're only hurting yourself at this point, which is what we're seeing now, with a different quarterback with Pete Carroll.

00;15;56;07 - 00;16;22;04

MoodSwings

Still have his job. I mean, God love Geno Smith. I don't I don't appreciate and matter of fact, I won't tolerate Geno Smith slander. The downfall of Geno Smith might be the most depressing part of my 2025. I'm not kidding you. It's it makes me sick. I can't even think for another second. And I said to someone or I maybe I tweeted it out and I said something like the downfall of Geno Smith is like devastating.

00;16;22;04 - 00;16;40;15

MoodSwings

And they were like, when was he ever up? And I was like, how dare you talk out of the side of your mouth like that about Geno Smith? Watch your mouth. Because we saw good moments from Geno Smith in Seattle. Yes we did. I have West Virginia blood in me okay. Runs through my veins. So I'm a Geno Smith fan I really like him as a guy as a QB.

00;16;40;15 - 00;17;02;07

MoodSwings

I just this has been really hard for me. But the Raiders have a lot of work to do. Now, here's a very interesting thing about the Raiders. I don't know if you knew this Mark. David and the Raiders will be spending $50 million on coaches that have been fired next year. They could potentially spend $50 million on coaches they don't have Antonio Pierce.

00;17;02;11 - 00;17;33;03

MoodSwings

They still owe 8 million to Josh McDaniels, 10 million Jon Gruden 10 million. Pete Carroll 16 million. Chip Kelly 6 million. A total of $50 million. The Raiders could be spending on coaches they no longer have. Yikes. However, this is going to be a very important offseason for the Las Vegas Raiders. Okay, first overall pick, a new coaching staff and about 100 million plus cap space available.

00;17;33;05 - 00;17;55;25

MoodSwings

So this is a really important offseason for the Raiders. Honestly, this is kind of like start from scratch ground zero. You've got some pieces in there right? I hope you didn't screw over your relationship with Max Crosby, but if you didn't, you've got pieces there. You draft a quarterback, you've got pieces there. And and this could be the year they turn it around and they need to.

00;17;55;25 - 00;18;15;14

MoodSwings

The AFC West was shook up this season for sure. But the Raiders it's been years and years and years and years and season after season after season of mistakes being made by that front office and new coaches here and there and quarterback changes here and there. And it's just not working. This is a really important offseason for the Raiders.

00;18;15;14 - 00;18;33;24

MoodSwings

Get a new coaching staff. You've got the first overall pick. Now is your time. If you can't do it now, you're never doing it. That's it. It's how I feel. It's true. The Cardinals fired their coach Falcons as well. I don't have a ton to say about the Falcons. I think they just kind of need to.

00;18;33;26 - 00;18;50;12

MoodSwings

They're kind of in a similar spot. It feels like there's a lot of things over there. They could probably adjust. The Cardinals are interesting to me though because they have a lot of pieces in my humble opinion. I like Kyler Murray. I like some of those offensive weapons. I really, really do. And I, you know, I think that the sky's the limit for them.

00;18;50;14 - 00;19;15;24

MoodSwings

The Cardinals still, though, have never had a head coach. Any head coach last longer than six years in this franchise, despite the franchise existing for over 100 years, they've never had a coach for more than six. What's so the turnover rate we talk about, they need to find a coach that provides them a little bit of stability.

00;19;15;26 - 00;19;36;14

MoodSwings

I think that's the problem in Arizona. So you can get a little stability there from a coaching perspective. And I think I like what I see from from a futures, you know, a futures pick on the Cardinals next season. But coaching matters. Clearly coaching matters. Hence the four coaches that woke up today and said and heard on the phone, you're fired.

00;19;36;16 - 00;19;55;09

MoodSwings

Don't bother showing up. Your your, key car doesn't work anymore. Yeah, we deactivated it. You will be locked outside in the cold. Don't show up to work today. So, you know, coaching does matter. It makes a huge, huge, huge difference in this league. And if you can't win.

00;19;55;11 - 00;20;18;06

MoodSwings

Bye bye. It's very simple. It happens very quick. So Vance Joseph might be someone that is being poached throughout the league. I don't want to hear it. La la la I want to hope that our GM looks at what this defense has looked like the past two seasons and does everything in their power to keep him. But he's a hot commodity right about now.

00;20;18;09 - 00;20;39;29

MoodSwings

He is, This Broncos defense was performing at a very, very high level. Even with injuries to their defense. Paxton was out for a chunk of the season and they were still performing at a very high level. We know what Vance Joseph is capable of now. Good coaches, good coordinators don't always translate to good coaches. That is true.

00;20;40;02 - 00;20;58;03

MoodSwings

And I mean no disrespect by that. But we have seen this before where you may be a great defensive coordinator, but as a head coach, maybe not so much. That being said, it does not stop teams from being interested in bringing you on board as their head coach. Do I think Vance Joseph is going to be a very hot commodity?

00;20;58;03 - 00;21;23;01

MoodSwings

I do, I do do I hope that our front office is smarter than that? Do I hope that our DMs are like, no, we're going to keep him. He's staying here. I hope so, but money talks. It's the truth. Okay, you pay this man enough money, I think he'll go just about anywhere. I saw there were rumors about maybe the Tennessee type Titans showing some interest in him this season.

00;21;23;04 - 00;21;41;20

MoodSwings

Or for next season. There's there's quite. I mean, I just named four teams that just fired their head coach that may be interested. Cardinals. Falcons. I don't know why the Dolphins haven't made coaching changes yet. I'm surprised that hasn't happened. I mean, there's just a lot. I think there's going to be a lot of of shaking around in the league.

00;21;41;20 - 00;21;58;29

MoodSwings

This is a very interesting year. Very, very interesting year. We're going to get into that right now. We're going to talk about the Denver Broncos because I can and I did see a comment somebody asked live where do you get your merch? Okay. This was a gift for Christmas from my fiancée this year. And it's from Chalk Line.

00;21;59;02 - 00;22;18;21

MoodSwings

If you guys saw one of the other days, I wore this, like, fuzzy big jacket and it had the old school logo on it. That was also chalk line. If you follow me on social media, I wore these really cute, trendy shorts to one of the Broncos games. That was also Chalk Line. I will say I pride myself.

00;22;18;26 - 00;22;36;14

MoodSwings

I have some pretty cool Broncos swag and I get asked about it. Austin I get asked about it often and I do my best to link it. Sometimes people will ask about a jacket that I got five years ago and I don't know if it exists anymore, but I do know this was a recent purchase. This is Chalk Line, so check them out.

00;22;36;15 - 00;22;52;01

MoodSwings

Go get you one. It's just like a little vest and it's super great. So anyway, it's been a fun year to be buying Broncos merch as you guys can imagine. But let's talk about those Broncos, shall we? Yes we shall, yes we shall. Okay, can I just be honest? Is this a safe space? Of course it is.

00;22;52;01 - 00;23;11;15

MoodSwings

It's my show. I'm making it safe. How about that? Okay, let's get into it. Yeah. So we're the number one here. Here's the should I should I start with the good news or the bad news? Okay. Good news first. Always. Here's the good news. We're the number one team in the AFC. Woo. We won the AFC West.

00;23;11;15 - 00;23;38;15

MoodSwings

Yes. We get a first round bye. Whoa. Home field advantage. Woo. Here's the bad news I was hoping by week 18 I would have seen a little bit more offensively. Yeah I was hoping it would look a little easier to score. By week 18. And it hasn't really. That's the bad news. Yeah, that's the bad news.

00;23;38;15 - 00;24;01;12

MoodSwings

I'm watching them play the Chargers, who don't have hardly any of their team playing. And I'm thinking, oh my gosh, we should be able to put 40 on these guys. No we didn't know it looked it looked as difficult to score as it has over the course of the season okay. So that's the bad news. The bad news is

00;24;01;14 - 00;24;25;13

MoodSwings

The bad news is, you know, I was hoping we'd see more by now. I was hoping they would look a little bit more comfortable. They would be in their groove. They'd have more confidence to them. Right? The scoring would look a little more seamless. Now, you might be thinking, oh, is live? Turning a blind eye to Bo Nix is live is live now changing how she feels about Bono?

00;24;25;15 - 00;24;46;21

MoodSwings

Not at all, actually, no. I'm actually going to flash myself all the way back to the beginning of the season when I talked about what I thought the largest problem was offensively for this Broncos team, and it was the play calling. Yeah, we're right back to it. We are right back where we started, where unfortunately it feels like the play calling is still an issue.

00;24;46;24 - 00;25;09;09

MoodSwings

Yes. Now I gave you the good news and I gave you the bad news. Here's the like okay. News mostly. It's not news at all. It's a conspiracy theory I've made up to make myself feel better. It's called a coping mechanism. Look it up. Here's my coping mechanism. I am choosing to believe that Sean Payton just doesn't want his best stuff on film.

00;25;09;09 - 00;25;38;10

MoodSwings

Ahead of the postseason. Oh yes, I like to think glass half full these days. What do you know about it? It's 2026. It's one of my resolutions. Look at the positive. Before you look at the negative. It's very hard for me, but here's what I'm doing. I am choosing to assume that Sean Payton, not only being a very smart head coach, but a very strategic head coach, a very intentional, a mastermind, if you will, has a plan.

00;25;38;12 - 00;26;04;09

MoodSwings

You know, because I sat there wondering towards the end of the season, why are we getting Marvin Mims more involved? Maybe that's the playoff secret weapon. What about that run game? Why can't we get Julio going a little bit more? Maybe that's a playoff secret weapon. Maybe Sean plans on adding a little sprinkle. Sprinkle when people least expect it, because he knows what this team is capable of.

00;26;04;15 - 00;26;29;06

MoodSwings

They practice it. They know it. They just don't want people to see it yet. Here's the deal. My next prompt in the show is what is the script? That is a question I get often live. What's the script? You must know the script. I don't guys, I wish I did, but let me tell you the other conspiracy theory that I am choosing to feast on as a coping mechanism.

00;26;29;08 - 00;26;55;10

MoodSwings

2026 the year of the horse. I'm sorry. What? It's a Bronco. It's a bronco, a horse. I'm pretty sure it is. Yes, a Bronco was a horse. 20, 26 year of the horse. The last time the Super Bowl was played in the same place it's being played in this year. Who won it? Denver. Denver did. The Broncos did.

00;26;55;10 - 00;27;15;07

MoodSwings

And here's the other piece of it I know you guys. You're like, oh, she's such a homer. This is so crazy. I already see one of the comments. How do you have a show smidge because I got hired. Try it. But you won't. Anyway, here's the thing. Year of the horse. Last time it was played in the stadium, Broncos won it.

00;27;15;09 - 00;27;38;13

MoodSwings

Last time the Broncos were the number one team in the AFC. They won the Super Bowl. It gets even better folks. Last season do you guys remember last season with the Philadelphia Eagles? They were this team that continued to win. Yet nobody was fully convinced about them. We would watch them win time after time after time. And we just kept saying, I don't know.

00;27;38;15 - 00;27;58;29

MoodSwings

I'm just not impressed really. Whether or not we were impressed didn't matter. They were winning football games. That's how you get to the super Bowl. And in order to win the Super Bowl, you have to win the biggest game of the season. So practicing winning games all season long is a really good thing to do. The Broncos have done that.

00;27;59;01 - 00;28;17;17

MoodSwings

I you forward to the year before when the Chiefs won the Super Bowl. And it was kind of that same vibe where it's like, I mean, I guess when you've got Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid and Travis, you know, anything can happen. But I'm just not impressed by this team. Like I'm just not worried. And then when it mattered most, they showed up.

00;28;17;17 - 00;28;44;22

MoodSwings

They rose to the occasion. They won the biggest game they needed to win. I just feel like there is a similar energy this season around the Denver Broncos, where people don't take this team seriously, which, okay, you know, you could give me your reason and I could hear you out and go, okay, yeah, I get it. But then I could probably hit you with five, six, seven facts to debunk whatever you're trying to tell me, right.

00;28;44;24 - 00;29;03;15

MoodSwings

Because we've seen this Broncos team compete. We've seen them win in clutch positions. We've seen Bowen play exceptionally well when he needed to the most back against the wall. This is an elite championship level defense. We know defense wins championships. Okay, the list goes on. I've got all day, I really do. This show ends when I want it to end.

00;29;03;15 - 00;29;28;27

MoodSwings

I could go all night long. I won't, but this Broncos team kind of has a similar vibe to me that the Eagles did last year, and even the Chiefs did the year before that where they were winning. But no one was really scared of those teams necessarily. Like you weren't fully convinced. You were like, yeah, but you know, and that is the tone of a voice in which people speak about the Broncos this season.

00;29;29;00 - 00;29;44;13

MoodSwings

Yeah, they're the number one team in the AFC. But you know who you know they're not really scared of the Broncos. And that's a really in my opinion to get a first round bye to have home field advantage and to not be feared.

00;29;44;16 - 00;30;06;08

MoodSwings

I don't mind that position for this team. I really, really don't, especially in the year of the horse. Okay. Where the last time things were stacked this way the Broncos won at all. I'm just saying. So when you guys ask me live, what's the script? Don't be upset with my answer. I just told you what the script was.

00;30;06;10 - 00;30;22;29

MoodSwings

You don't have to agree with it. You asked me what the script was. I don't actually have the script. That's my script. And I honestly think it makes a lot of sense because like I said, my coping mechanism in this moment is choosing to believe that Sean Payton hasn't shown us his best yet.

00;30;23;02 - 00;30;51;02

MoodSwings

I really, really, really believe Sean Payton is much better as a play caller than what we have seen so far. By the way, Sean Payton has a Twitter account. I'm pretty sure he can see every Broncos country member getting online and saying WTF is this play calling? Question mark, exclamation point, angry face. He sees it. Sean, you know right?

00;30;51;04 - 00;31;08;29

MoodSwings

I'm pretty sure Bo Nix looked at you while he was on the field and you were on the sideline and he yelled, Sean, wake up! You know this is not new information now. Sean Payton kind of a stubborn guy. So if they get by with a win and his brain, I don't have to fix anything yet. I'm chillin.

00;31;09;01 - 00;31;28;06

MoodSwings

Still got the dub. Joke's on you. Okay. But I do also think that he is intelligent enough and strategic enough that he's looking at this season and he's watching film, and they are not taking this first round by lightly. And he's figuring out what can we do that they haven't seen yet. Do you guys not remember Sean Payton?

00;31;28;09 - 00;31;49;23

MoodSwings

First. Like let me show Broncos Country who I am moment was an onside kick. First play of the first game I was like what. The flip is going what are you doing? He just wants to show you what he's about, right? This man loves a little razzle dazzle. Let me shock the people I like to make a jaw drop from from time to time.

00;31;49;26 - 00;32;11;29

MoodSwings

We haven't had that moment yet with him. I think it's coming. It's my coping mechanism. Yes, I know, I know, there's no facts to prove that this is what's happening, but I believe it is. How about that? So I am choosing to believe Sean Payton is just getting started. We have not seen the best of him yet. He does not want his best stuff on film ahead of the playoffs or that first round.

00;32;11;29 - 00;32;36;11

MoodSwings

Bye. What are they going to be working on? Creativity on offense? Yes. Get Marvin Mims more involved. Yes. Get Julio running. Yes, I think so. So anyway, here's to hoping because yeah the play calling not my favorite. I just got to say it 2026 of the Year of Honesty. Here's me being honest. I don't like the play calling.

00;32;36;13 - 00;33;03;09

MoodSwings

Never have really. But we got a little used to it. Now we're going to need to spice it up a little. Sean, because I was hoping by week 18 that offense would look a little more seamless and confident and a little more electric. And it didn't, I'm afraid. Yeah. It didn't. Nope. So I'm going to need to see some, gonna need to see some flashes of excitement come playoff time because I don't think you're going to win otherwise.

00;33;03;12 - 00;33;23;14

MoodSwings

So choosing to believe Sean Payton knows what he's doing, he is intentional. He is strategic, and he knows what he's doing. And he has a plan. And the plan will be executed. And that plan will execute the Denver Broncos all the way to the Super Bowl for a victory. Thank you. Moving on. Don't ask me about the script because that's my script.

00;33;23;17 - 00;33;50;27

MoodSwings

I just wrote it. How do you feel? Right okay. Moving on. Finally, bold playoff predictions and I'm going to remove my bias from this one, I really am. We're just going to talk playoff picture. As it stands right now in this moment. Here are some of my like hot takes maybe I don't know I don't necessarily think they're hot takes, but here they are.

00;33;51;00 - 00;33;58;09

MoodSwings

Buffalo bills as badly as I think people want this to be the Buffalo Bills year.

00;33;58;12 - 00;34;21;25

MoodSwings

This is kind of a two parter. Hot take this in my opinion, was the closest, not the closest. This is that's the wrong way to put it. This, in my opinion, was the Buffalo Bills best shot at winning the Super Bowl. Why? They don't have to worry about Patrick Mahomes. Serious. So this was it for them in my opinion.

00;34;21;28 - 00;34;42;01

MoodSwings

You want to go through the AFC and win it all. This was your best opportunity this season. The flip side of that is I think they're a first round exit. I believe in the Patriots. I believe in Drake Maye Drake made to me is the clear cut MVP. I think we have wanted to deny what the Patriots are.

00;34;42;01 - 00;35;06;01

MoodSwings

And maybe by the second round we will we will see that. But for now, in this moment the Patriots to me are a real problem. And the Buffalo Bills are about to find that out in the first round. Okay. So this was their best shot to win a Super Bowl. But I don't think they are. So that's kind of a two parter hot take there for you in the postseason.

00;35;06;01 - 00;35;24;28

MoodSwings

I think the Buffalo Bills will be eliminated in the first round by the New England Patriots. And unfortunately, I think this is the Buffalo Bill's best shot at winning a Super Bowl maybe ever. And I don't think it's happening. So you can kind of do the math on that. And how I feel about the Buffalo Bills in the future.

00;35;25;01 - 00;35;50;14

MoodSwings

Okay. Largest threat, in my humble opinion, outside of the team I love and the team that I am repping at the moment, the Jags are terrifying to me, I think. So they have got the momentum right now. They look really stinking great. Yeah. Jags Jags Jags coming out of the AFC feels right. It just does. It feels right.

00;35;50;14 - 00;36;12;24

MoodSwings

And and I think they are going to make some serious noise in the postseason. Now they're facing the Chargers. And the Chargers can kind of give you a little bit of whatever right. You never know what you're going to get out of Herbert and the crew. Oh bills play the you guys. Bills play the I really think my Jags send the bills home.

00;36;12;28 - 00;36;16;21

MoodSwings

The bills play the Jags first.

00;36;16;23 - 00;36;22;19

MoodSwings

Andy is that true I have 72.

00;36;22;21 - 00;36;45;29

MoodSwings

Hold on guys. Let me fact check myself now. Now you've got me. Now you've got me. Hold on. Oh yes okay rewind rewind. Bills Jags. So yes I still stand by that. Let me go all the way back to the start. The bills will not advance past the first round because they're facing the Jags. And to me the Jags are the true threat coming out of the AFC.

00;36;45;29 - 00;37;06;15

MoodSwings

It's true. This is also simultaneously in my opinion the bills best opportunity to win a Super Bowl. You do the math there. I don't think they may get past the first round because I think the Jags are truly, in my opinion, outside of the team that I love and the team that I wear. The Jags me are the scariest team in the AFC.

00;37;06;17 - 00;37;34;29

MoodSwings

So bills to me out first round. The Jags are legit. The Patriots versus the Chargers. The Chargers who have been very banged up Justin Herbert himself who is banged up going toe to toe head to head with Drake Maye. I'm going to put my money towards Drake Maye in that situation I really am I have been waiting for Drake Maye to kind of have that moment that we've all kind of like I don't I don't want to say we've been waiting for his downfall because that sounds horrible and I haven't been waiting for that.

00;37;34;29 - 00;37;55;02

MoodSwings

But I've been kind of waiting for the moment where it's like the hype dies and he just continues to rise to the occasion. Okay. So Patriots will be the Chargers. That's how I feel. So you've got the Patriots advancing. You've got the Jags advancing Texans. Steelers.

00;37;55;04 - 00;38;19;14

MoodSwings

You guys know how I feel about the Steelers. They kind of a little bit I just I think it's Rodgers I think it's Rodgers. But you really can't deny the coach that Mike Tomlin is you really can't. There's there is I mean he's got it. The list of accolades when it comes to being a winning head coach Mike Tomlin right now probably one of the best left standing in this playoff picture.

00;38;19;16 - 00;38;40;07

MoodSwings

I don't really want to fade good coaching in the first round of the playoffs. That being said, defensively, the Houston Texans have been terrifying and, Grandpa Rodgers might get rocked around a little bit to a point of discomfort. Yeah. It's true. So that's a tough one. I don't know how I feel about Texans Steelers just yet.

00;38;40;07 - 00;39;10;09

MoodSwings

I don't really know. But I would probably lean towards the, Steelers. Unfortunately. Coaching, they have a coaching advantage in my opinion. That really, really matters. Okay, NFC wise I think the Seattle Seahawks rightfully being number one team in the AFC or in the NFC, they are one of the more scary ones, but I'm not willing to call them more scary than the Rams just yet.

00;39;10;12 - 00;39;36;27

MoodSwings

There is something about Matthew Stafford in the postseason that should terrify everyone. Everyone. I really I just think that the Rams are scary. So if you made me pick right now which team I feel the most scared of in the NFC, it's going to be the Rams. I feel actually more scared of the Rams than I do of the Seahawks.

00;39;36;27 - 00;39;39;26

MoodSwings

I really, really do.

00;39;39;28 - 00;40;09;03

MoodSwings

I really, really do. So 40 Niners versus Eagles. Oh. I pray I don't know. That's ugly. I don't even think I want to touch that Chicago versus green Bay probably going Chicago there. Honestly Rams Panthers Rams for sure. So here's what I'm realizing as we're discussing through all of this. The Super Bowl is still wide open.

00;40;09;06 - 00;40;31;24

MoodSwings

Wide open honestly. Because in so many ways outside of like yes, you get the home field advantage or a first round bye. Whatever the case, you kind of start over in the postseason, right? Like it's one game. That's it. Your record outside of getting the home field advantage or the seeding and how that all plays out once the game starts, it's like square one.

00;40;31;24 - 00;40;39;17

MoodSwings

Everyone is just playing football. They're just trying to win that game that they are playing in that moment.

00;40;39;19 - 00;41;08;21

MoodSwings

I don't know, I think I'm most I'm the most scared right now of the Jags and the Rams. I really am now. I think a Broncos Seahawks Super Bowl would be awesome. But I'm probably feeling the most threatened by the Rams and the Jags. The Jags to me have a lot of momentum. And I've just felt really good about the Rams all season long.

00;41;08;21 - 00;41;39;23

MoodSwings

Even when they lose to the Seattle Seahawks, I still feel great about the Rams. So I don't know. Guys this is crazy. This is a crazy wide open Super Bowl. I don't really know if we've ever seen a playoff picture. More like anybody's game than we have this season, which is why I just find it so funny when people are just so certain they know exactly how the Denver Broncos season is going to unfold, because nothing about this season has been predictable.

00;41;39;23 - 00;42;07;05

MoodSwings

Not one thing. So if you haven't learned anything all year, let me teach you a little something. This is anybody's Super Bowl. Everybody has won ugly games. They've lost ugly games. It has truly been one of the most, I don't know, unpredictable NFL seasons in the best way possible. It feels very strange to not have the Baltimore Ravens or the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoff picture.

00;42;07;05 - 00;42;15;19

MoodSwings

It feels very strange, but that's the kind of year that we had where you had young guys like Drake Maye.

00;42;15;21 - 00;42;41;17

MoodSwings

MVP Drake Maye what you know Saquon Barkley went from being an almost MVP to like you don't even hear his name at all I mean this was just a very weird year very weird. So anything can happen. And I'm very very curious to figure out what this Denver Broncos team truly does in their bye week and how they plan to prepare.

00;42;41;20 - 00;43;03;22

MoodSwings

Because there's a lot of good football teams out there. There's a lot of good quarterbacks. I think the Broncos right now are missing that that electricity in their offense and a run game. Those are the two things I feel like if they could just improve by this much in their first round bye, they would be in a much better position.

00;43;03;22 - 00;43;23;22

MoodSwings

And they might. Who knows. Crazier things have happened. This year has looked very strange. There's a lot of things that are kind of up in the air at the moment, so there you go. I, I if I, if you made me pick right now in this moment I'm going Jags out of the AFC and I'm going Rams out of the NFC.

00;43;23;24 - 00;43;33;23

MoodSwings

Now if I if I really kind of move if I combine my brain and my heart and my gut.

00;43;33;25 - 00;44;04;13

MoodSwings

I think all signs are pointing to Denver in the AFC. I'm not kidding. And then in the NFC probably Seattle, probably Seattle. Momentum matters. Winning games matters. No matter how you did it. Winning games matters because it is creating a winning culture that also helps you a lot in the postseason. So regardless of whether you just got by or you really won comfortably, a win is a win is a win is a win, and a winning culture will help you a lot.

00;44;04;20 - 00;44;24;18

MoodSwings

And a good head coach will help you a lot. And despite me not always agreeing with Sean Payton's play calling, he is a good head coach. Period. Bo Nix despite what you think, weirdo hater is a good quarterback. Yes he is. Look up his statistics. Thank you. Move on. Okay, this is an elite championship level defense. So no, I'm not being a homer.

00;44;24;18 - 00;44;44;21

MoodSwings

I'm being a truther. The Broncos can in fact win the Super Bowl this year. It's true. It's true despite despite what you think about their offense. Right. And again I still have concerns as well. But despite what the haters think about the offense it hasn't stood enough in their way for them to not be the number one team in the AFC.

00;44;44;24 - 00;45;05;25

MoodSwings

You know what I mean I you spend a lot of time giving all these, you know, these little notes, these little these little notes and these little opinions and these little critiques of yours on everything the Denver Broncos need to do differently. But I'm afraid whatever they're doing kind of, sort of a little bit worked. They are the number one team in the AFC.

00;45;05;25 - 00;45;26;03

MoodSwings

They did win the AFC West. They did only lose three games this season, only one of which was at home. So you know you know whatever you think, whatever your little feedback is it's just background noise really, because whatever you think they need to fix didn't affect them all that much. Do they still have things to fix?

00;45;26;03 - 00;45;49;00

MoodSwings

Yes, of course, of course. Got to see more. Got to see more. But we might. And again, I am hoping and praying that Sean Payton has just got some things up his sleeve that we haven't seen yet. And we're about to see it. And when we see it, it will be on the biggest stage possible. Yep. Winners okay that does it guys.

00;45;49;00 - 00;46;10;20

MoodSwings

That does it for another episode of Mood Swings with Liv moods I'm Liv Booth signing off for now. Sorry I got the bracket wrong. I don't know what I was looking at. I'm actually going to tell you right now. It was yesterday, so. Oh, I that probably was yesterday morning that someone posted this. Okay. Yeah. So the Steelers game and all.

00;46;10;21 - 00;46;32;07

MoodSwings

By the time the day ended we had some things switch up. So anyway my apologies for getting that wrong. But we will see you guys again for another episode of Mood Swings on Friday. I'll try to do a little bit more basketball talk that day so that we're not just talking football. Of course the Denver Broncos. I don't have to stress about all that much in the first week of the playoffs, but I will still be watching, of course.

00;46;32;09 - 00;46;50;22

MoodSwings

And, yeah, we'll see you guys. Friday, 4 p.m. mountain time for another episode of Mood Swings. I'm Liv moods. Signing off for now. Much love to you. We will see you soon.
